Yeah but is it true that the Blade Zmax has a better screen than the ZMP even though they both have the same amount of PPI and a 1080p resolution? My Pro doesn't have the greatest viewing angles and I get a slight multiple rainbow effect when viewing from the sides on all white or light grey backgrounds while moving the phone up and down.

The screen quality between the phones is very similar. I set both phones right next to each other to compare the white levels (white page with black text) at various levels of brightness. In my opinion the ZMAX PRO has superior white tones which are crisper, clearer, and brighter. With MAX brightness, the PRO is brighter. The BLADE isn't poor quality though.

As far as viewing angles, and the issues you mentioned, I don't really see that problem on my PRO or the BLADE. I feel that the PRO has a potentially brighter screen and truer whites. It might come down to preference, but when placing the phones directly next to each other the difference is definitely noticeable.

I wouldn't upgrade thinking that the screen is better on the BLADE. If anything, you may actually feel it isn't as good.

The battery has been holding up really well so far. It does charge a little faster than the PRO and it has a larger battery. I've put in heavy usage and a bright screen for the last 30 minutes and I've only lost 3% charge.

I hope that helps. As soon as I'm able I'll try to post pics or do a video comparison.

Well my ZMP was manufactured in January of this year so maybe they started using cheaper displays by this time to make it a little less expensive to manufacture. I can live with it as long as I look at the screen straight on. If I don't the screen dims by a good 15% and I'm going to be seeing stacks of dim rainbows but it's not too noticable.

Just tested video recording quality. Suffers the same low light issues. The audio quality recorded with the video is absolutely HORRIBLE.

Looking at MetroPCS Return policy, I think they do not offer refunds on phones purchased as an upgrade. So, if you upgrade to the BLADE and find out that you like your PRO better, you're kinda stuck.

The BLADE is definitely NOT worth $160 (total) as an upgrade to the PRO. I'm not even sure it's worth $160 period.

So far, the only real improvement I'm seeing is the battery. Screen is arguably not as good, camera SUCKS for both still photos and video, and audio recording quality with videos is HORRIBLE.

Hey I guess I'll wait until August of 2018 and get the Blade Z max 2 or Z983 LOL! Then it might be worth it since it will have Android O and a better SoC like the upcoming SD 450 or a 625 which should come down in price by then to be included in more budget friendly prepaid carrier handsets. I'm sure we'll be stuck with just 2GB of RAM for the next one as well.

You can't expect much of an upgrade when going up just one notch from Z981 to Z982. Hopefully the next model goes up at least 10 notches to the Z992 so we can expect something much better than what we got this time around. The Z1000 sounds cool and we are almost there!

Couldn't resist I needed a backup phone with nougat 7.1.1.
I got this phone for $29 us dollars $57.45 out the door wit unlimited data.
This battery rocks.
Best battery I've owned on a smart phone so far.
I don't believe root will come. So my LG is still my daily.
But for this price I had to grab it. Never would have bought it the price was $39 or more.

The FM RADIO app crashes and won't start. Doesn't seem to be a way to update or remove the app. It simply doesn't work.
For ZTE UN -rootable with locked bootloader phones,
to disable an app without root use an apk named Package Disabler v1.1.2.

You will need a CPU terminal with adb drivers installed to issue the command for the app to have administrative rights.
