I just finished a chat with Samsung about shipping - I was told that people who ordered their Note 8 from Samsung (like me) can expect tracking numbers starting Tuesday... that's when they start shipping. I'm really hopeful that I'm in the first batch, because I have overnight shipping and could have my Note 8 Wednesday! So some of you lucky slugs will get a head start on me!

Finallly! I have a tracking number. Oddly, I can't determine which carrier. Who starts with 1Z?

Finally, received tracking this morning. Mine is coming directly from Samsung.

Yay, Alex! Finally figured out Sammy is sending mine UPS this year. Now I just need UPS to acknowledge the tracking number and delivery date and I can plan my next day off from work.

I'm not understanding why Samsung didn't ship my alcantara cover. Maybe they are out of stock.

That's an interesting change, since Samsung has shipped by FedEx in the past. But really... who cares? We're DAYS AWAY!

I take that back Koki. I just spoke with Samsung directly and she said all packages will be shipped via FedEx. She also said most pre-orders would start receiving tracking today, though it may not update until later or maybe even tomorrow.
FedEx it is! Strange that my tracking number brings up UPS when Google searched. I was shocked at first, as I'm used to Samsung using FedEx as well.
Also, I'm not holding my breath. I remember last year, the Note 7 sat at my local facility for almost a week. ANYTIME this week and I'll be stoked!

So the tracking number that Samsung sent me is bogus? It is definitely a UPS tracking number. Not a FedEx number. So strange. Someone got their wires crossed. I'll just be happy to see whichever carrier has my phone pull up with it in hand.
I would've preferred UPS though as our local FedEx driver will knock on the door, shrug, and determine no one is home if the door isn't instantly opened. Bye bye package.

Did you order an accessory like a case or something? That would ship separately from the phone.

I ordered a case but it is being shipped USPS and is still sitting in China since 8/29 waiting on customs to determine it isn't illegal.

Well, they're shipping Note 8s out on 9/5, which is 10 days before release. If they hold true to that, registered Note 7 owners will have theirs shipped first. Gives us about a week head start... I'm just happy I won't have to wait two more weeks!

mine is ship to store and wont get tracking info for the first time in 20 frs ordering phones
how many have a case of what ifs and wondering why pre order and wish we waited release day and cancel orders to ease the insane control of others determining when we get devices.

others do wait 2 more painful weeks but its all the same. at least i can see NO FLAMEGATE CHAOS AGAIN.DAMN HOLIDAY preventing further outcomes

Are Verizon customers able to activate it from home (using the trade in phones SIM card)? I've never bought a Note directly from Samsung.

Big surprise to me today as I never expected it on a Sunday but I just got the "It Shipped" emails. Says 2 business days so I guess I should get it sometime on Tuesday. A full 10 days before official release. Pretty cool stuff!
