I feel i was in dire need of a new phone , so with the 8 coming out i had to jump on it. onto details of my preorder.

been a loyal sprint customer since 2014 possibly even earlier. they were able to take $200 off the price of the note 8, waive their $30 dollar activation fee, and also some how give me lower payments on this "lease" with another incentive and i will only be paying $20 bucks a month on it instead of $40.... also they were offering for PREORDERS only the free wireless charging station and 128g SD card or the 360 camera. i forgot to mention i was also able to keep my current plan which i was worried they wouldnt do so. i have unlimited everything on 2 phone lines.

im content with that !

Thats a super good deal.
The best I have seen is Best Buy, if you have a S7 or comparable phone, you can get so much for your trade in, plus a 150 dollar promotion credit, so the Note 8 comes down to only 12 dollars and change per month.
For my V20 the trade in was less, but still the best deal I saw for myself, the phone came to 18 and change.
The next best offer for me was through Samsung with the 425 dollar credit for Note 7 owners, the phone has come to 23 dollars and change.

So, you got a better deal than previous note 7 owners. The only way you could have possibly done better is if you had a S7 and traded in at Best Buy. You also got your activation fee waived which I hadn't seen offered anywhere. So I say you've done great!

The giveaway stuff is also to be had direct from the samsung site and some other carriers. I'm on T-Mobile and they also offer the free goodies. Picking up the camera.

Hey bro any bread off the cost of this device is a win win...

They told me i have to go to samsung's site and enter the phone's serial number in order to redeem the freebies. i said ook. even though i don't believe anyone has gotten their phones yet.

Ask sprint that. it's obviously a way to make more money....
I think that would be a question you should have asked them and pressed for ......I never had any carrier pull a stunt like that on me, new line of service yes, never had Sprint though, glad I don't have them knowing they pull stunts like that on their customers. Buy an unlocked phone from Sammy drop in your Sprint sim doesn't involve them, Yes I know you bought the Note from Sprint it's just a cash grab glad you got it waived because I would have dropped them like a hot potato after telling them why if they didn't, but I have a feeling they really weren't going to charge you an activation fee, RATHER they want to make is sound like they are actually doing something special for you

AT&T does it too, but I think they call it an 'upgrade fee'

i agree, i would have told them it's a no go had they tried to make me pay an activation fee, considering i've already been a customer for quite some time. my worry was they were going to try and make me change my unlimited plan. which they did not and that would have been a no go as well then. i recall them giving me some nonsense years ago when i purchased my note 4 years ago telling me something similar.

I'll be honest im not into the whole idea of paying monthly for a "lease" cell phone. its obvious now that all carriers are now doing this. i'll play for now. not quite sure if i'll want to pay the remainder of the phone off to keep at that point or just get rid of it. only time will tell.

@donmeca2020 how did you get Sprint to take the 200$ off your pre order? I have been with Sprint for over 10 years and when I called to pre order the woman on the phone basically told me they only offer a discount if you open up a second phone line, which I have no use for.

No idea bro. they told me it was on my account, maybe because i already have 2 phone lines on my account, other then that im really unsure. they were sending me TONS of emails to try and entice me to purchase a new phone for the last 4 or so months. maybe that's why. i guess an upgrade discount maybe? my last phone with them that i still have and it's functioning decent is the Note 4. i guess they just wanted to get more people aboard their new monthly payment plan. keep us updated if you can swing something.

I preordered directly from Samsung with the Note 7 loyalty offer. Free 360 included and with Samsung@work I only paid $236.

An added bonus is I get to wait until the 13th, while first time Note users are already playing with their new device.
Strange, sorry to hear that the Note 8 & 360 is out for delivery but I didn't do any upgrade, with that said my buddy did do the upgrade deal, he ordered at midnight next day delivery and I ordered at 7am using free shipping, both of ours are marked out for delivery today, two different towns, but not that far apart.

How much do you guys in the US pay for your Note 8 phones before any discount?

Here in the UK it's £869 which equates to $1123.79 with no discount and no deal for Note 7 owners and later delivery times!
No, I'm not jealous honest :D :D

Of course in the UK you are being charged 20% VAT, so that price does sound about right. Assuming you are paying full retail for it, without any carrier subsidies.

But FWIW I'm now waiting for the Note8 grey import threads to start.

Anyone on VZW get any deals on freebies?

No freebies, just $480, which I chose to do at $20 / month. My monthly bill is like $13 less now, which is pretty cool.

Edit: Just to be clear, VZW allows the same freebie offer as everyone else, through Samsung.
