Help WIFI calling on Unlocked Note8

Has anyone with an unlocked Note8 found the WIFI calling setting yet? I know I had it on my S7 but it was a carrier purchased phone.
From what I've read, Samsung includes features such as VoLTE and WiFi Calling in the carrier version of the OS and they don't usually extend that to other versions, including the unlocked OS. I think a carrier such as AT&T could include those features in their SIM if they were so inclined.

Thanks. I am trying to keep a list of the differences good and bad between carrier and unlocked for my own future reference so I keep my head at decision time and don't just jump on 'deals'. I am fairly new to unlocked phones. This is my second one but the first one hardly counts as it wasn't a high end phone so a lot of bells and whistles were naturally missing.
Any help listing those differences would be appreciated.

AFAIK WiFi calling is only available on the customized devices that certain carriers supply.

VoLTE(Voice over LTE) should be on most LTE 4G capable devices, but the carrier has to support it as well. Check with your particular carrier for that, and you may have to turn it on in the device settings. I have VoLTE with China Unicom and my phone wasn't supplied by them.

The whole idea of a phone that wasn't carrier customized, is that it's got no carrier customizations, restrictions and bloat at all, you should be able to use it on any network you like just by inserting the SIM, except possibly if you're in North America. Where I am, phones are not locked at all even if the carrier sells them.

It wasn't there on my phone but I did finally find it. I had to go to apps and select system apps. Then it showed up in the list of apps and I was able to toggle the permission. That should give me WIFI calling when I need it. Thanks though. Between us hopefully we'll have the answer for anyone else in the same boat! :D
I have a factory unlocked N8 and I can't find a Wi-Fi calling option, either on the phone app or in the app list with system apps enabled.

Same goes for Mine. (International - Dual SIM)
I cannot find any VoIP or WiFi Calling setting

Which is actually an Asia version, like for Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. You won't find WiFi calling on those, and any VOIP will be provided by third-party apps and services, like Whatsapp, Wechat or Skype. Some country versions apparently can provide WiFi calling on unlocked, non-carrier devices, like UK devices.

Mine is a dual sim unlocked and carrier free as well, I don't have wifi calling anywhere unless it is already built in to the dialler, I'm with Vodafone and they are not offering wifi calling at the moment anyway but am supposed to start early next year, I'm sure it will just be a software thing that is fixed easy enough, maybe the setting will magically appear if you stick in a sim from a carrier that offers it.

Typically feaures like wifi calling and sending large uncompressed MMS messages are at the discretion of the unique carrier. These devices are capable of many features, but some (just ask Verizon USA cellular users) carriers leave certain features out (i.e. Cloud storage options ) becyase those features may clash with products that carrier may have (again just ask Verizon USA cellular users.. :D:p)

You would think with all of us having the Note8 that our settings would be the same. Seems our carriers like to keep us on our toes.

There's quite a lot of different Note8 variants, could be well over 50 Note8 variants around the world, like many Samsung phones. Something like WiFi calling I've just never heard of it being used here in China, and Asia countries generally, so no need for Samsung to include it on Chinese and Asian variant Note8s. Same with the S8s and S7s as well.

I mentioned earlier in this thread about "international" Samsungs. Something that quite frequently comes up on AF. Well there's no such thing as a truly international Samsung intended for everywhere, they all have designated country and regional variants. And if they're from Amazon or Ebay vendors, chances are they'll be grey imports from another region, especially if dual-SIM.

Yes - I knew what I was getting into when I got mine from an ebay seller.

But I wanted a Dual SIM version and did not overly care about the issues it could come with it.
(And when I saw the 3.99/Month Warranty I went for it and the Note 8

While i was interested in WiFi calling I have no real need for it.

If I did there is always Talkatone or similar not to mention what
mikedt mentioned about services like skype and all
