To learn Tasker ... start out simple ... when it works properly ... add functionality to it. Keep building and learning.
I'm a Tasker user and have been working at it for about 4 years. I used it for over a year before I learned that the Filter line on the Action Category screen was not a decoration. You can type an string and it will search for actions containing that string in its name.
Tasker was written and is maintained by one person. He is in my opinion a genius.
