Help! Wifi keeps disconnecting!

I bought a couple of Galaxy TAB S2 (Wi-Fi version) and found that they would not hold a Wi-Fi connection. They would automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network but, within seconds, would disconnect from it and either connect to another or reconnect to the first. Very flaky. I had tried all the other tricks from various forums but to no avail. I was ready to take the S2's back to the store.

I had 6 networks in the house, each with its own, unique SSID - a 2G and 5 G network from my main router; another 2G and 5G from an AP router and 2 more from a Wi-Fi Extender. When I watched the Wi-Fi connections screen on the S2 I would see all this random SSID switching going on every few seconds. I finally realized that all Wi-Fi tablets will check for wi-fi networks roughly every 10 seconds, even if they are connected to one. This is normal. What was happening was that the S2 had too many to choose from and, based on moment to moment conditions would switch to a "better" one.

So, I picked one single SSID name and assigned it to all the networks. Yes. Just one name!

That did the trick. All connections were rock solid after that. No dropping. No random switching. The Tab has only one "formal" SSID to work with.

OK, I do realize that I still have six networks running. Six "radios", each on their own Channel, and if I walk around the house, the Tab will connect to the one having the best signal at that location. But having assigned the same SSID to all of them has stopped the Tab from formally switching on its own, randomly, when it's just sitting in one place. It still checks for networks every 10 seconds or so but has to stay with the one SSID. Maybe all a bit wierd, but it works!!!

This has been hell for me with my Samsung Note 8 (BTW Samsung wanted $294 to repair the Note 8) and thanks to this thread I think I've resolved my issue. Following is what I did on my Netgear Nighthawk R7000.
  1. Log into the router with admin rights.
  2. Click on the Advanced tab at the top
  3. In the left NAV pane under Setup, click QoS Setup
  4. In the WMM tab, Remove the check marks for (1) Enable WMM settings (2.4GHz Bb/g/n) and (2) Enable WMM settings (5GHz a/n)
  5. Click the apply button
The apply will take several seconds (I think it was less than a minute), proceed after the apply finishes
On the tablet, turn on the Wi-Fi (you need to be in the settings). Find your network, tap your network, select Connect (supply the password if necessary).
At this point lots of stuff that was queued up started to download to my tablet and now all seems to be OK.
Much thanks to the people that found this solution.

Hey! I have just created this account only to say HOW I SOLVED MINE

I only had to reboot the modem.
I spent hours deleting app cache, uninstalling google play services updates, tried the gps/wifi thing, EVERYTHING, but it was a problem with the modem, which I would have never thought it could be since I was using wifi on my PC.

Anyways, I hope this helps somebody

Who ever suggested to use the phone in airplane mode should never suggest anything again, if you turn airplane mode on you cannot use wifi or data. I am having this same issue with my device as well and for those saying it's Comcast internet that causes this issue is dead wrong because my phone came from Comcast. What I would suspect is the router being set to something other than g. But my device is compatible with all of them so that doesn't help either. It must be an issue with the device itself, if that's the case I will have 3 phones to send to LG for repairs because my wife and mother have the same phones with the same problem.
