What do you think after using it for two weeks?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I was an iPhone user since the original debuted 3 years ago and just switched to Verizon 2 months ago. Tried a Blackberry Storm2 for less than a month and hated it. Read about the Incredible and ordered one off of eBay for close to retail price.

If Verizon and Apple offered an iPhone on Verizon TOMORROW, I would NOT switch from my Incredible. :)

For me its perfect. I have no issues at all. Sure an app crashes here and there and the occasional reboot out of nowhere, but who cares? It has not let me down the way other phones have and it gives me the power to do so many things where ever i go. I use it all day long. From listening to my favorite radio stations on radiotime, to watching movies. I even do a good bit of web browsing and it has yet to let me down. Its definately a device i have no problems living with for the next 2 years and then some. When something else 2+ years comes to the market that i want, i'll buy it, until then i'm good with what i've got.

Definitely love my Incredible. This is my first jump into having a fully featured 3g smartphone. I had an EnV Touch before, so night and day when it comes to differences. I do miss having a physical keyboard, but the more I'm getting used to Swype, the less I'm missing it (physical keyboard). Currently, I'm just awaiting a larger extended battery to add both a much needed boost in juice and size (for me atleast, phone is rather small in my hands).

Things I've learned to live with nowadays:
... after my alarm goes off oh my phone, I power it off to have it continue to charge to get that extra boost every day. I've noticed it increase an extra 10-15% since doing this. Also, as I'm currently lacking a protective case due to waiting for extended batteries, I have the phone in a microfiber sunglass sock... I still many times feel like I might break the phone in my pocket or hands because its so slim. Something as simple as a volume widget makes life so much easier... being able to go loud, totally silent, to vibrate in 2 "clicks"

On a side note: What do you guys use as navigation? I have google maps, but I'm wondering if theres something else you guys are using.

I've seen an iPhone in direct sunlight. It's no better.

Neither the phone or the application have any control over the maps. I've had this issue with multiple GPS devices - from a crappy Cobra all the way up to a top of the line Garmin - that will have the same issue in the same places. It has to do with the map, not the device or its software. Not really fair to gig the phone for that.

This is pretty much how all two piece cases react from a drop that high onto a hard surface. That's physics.

Isn't everything?

I disagree on almost every point.

The Navigator app is a Google app, based on their maps, software, and my Incredible with Google integration. They seem to be the only ones to blame Google and the hardware.

The screen is useless outside on a sunny day, and the person I was showing to pulled out his iphone to compare. There was no comparison. Yes, its higher res, and bigger, but useless in the sun.

The case shouldn't explode on impact.

But you're right....nothing is perfect!

It is close enough that we can enjoy it most of the time.

I had call quality issues and battery issues. Both have been improved (call quality thru replacement). Overall, I'm very happy I switched from BB Bold/AT&T.

Things I am not in love with:

* Gmail - no pinch to zoom
* Alerts - LED is sad, vibrate options non-existent (repeats, length of vibrate, strength). Not to mention occasionally it just stops vibrating on incoming mail. BB + BB alerts software killz the Inc here.
* Portrait mode typing - here's where I'd dig a wider screen.
* Seemingly "tacked-on" landscape mode

Things that I love:
* Net is fast. Absolutely confident when I want to quickly check web page and know it will actually be quick to do so. Pinch to zoom and reformatting with browser is better than I would have expected.
* Personalization and sense UI homescreens.
* Google maps and nav - boxed my nuvi, no more map updates for me. A brand new local road extension (open 2 weeks) shows up fine and is routable - very nice.
* Gvoice/google email/picasa/ integration - Good now, could be/hopefully will be made even better.
* Apps - many great apps are free, much better than BB (of course).
* Verizon > AT&T
* She's a sexy momma. I run her nude, that's what insurance is for. :)

I wonder why my screen is fine in direct sunlight? Maybe it's the "clear protector" I have on the screen?

If everyone said the incredible is perfect, you would have an iphone/apple-like community, and that would be a very sad thing!

So you are telling me Advanced Task Killer..... kills your battery? I've had it installed for quite sometime, but I really haven't noticed any negative effects on my battery. Why is it such a killer?

Seems like a lot of problems with the phone are actually related to ATK, or stated another way.... I see a lot of people uninstall ATK, and their problems go away.

Might not be every case, but I'm just pointing out the impression I get from a lot of the posts here. Plus there's no need for something like ATK :D

I came from AT&T and the Iphone to the Droid Incredible. I must say that I am loving this so far.

When it comes to the Verizon service, this is leaps and bounds better than AT&T. I was a long time AT&T customer. Heck, we were on Cingular for 4 years when AT&T bought them out, so that should tell you just how long we were with them. Its been a long time. When I had the Iphone, I thought the coverage was ok, and the 3g service was ok. With Verizon, I am blown away. I can't believe that 3g is this fast on Verizon. I can't believe that I can surf this fast or view Youtube apps on 3g. Its really a night and day difference. One I did not expect.

From the phone perspective, I am equally impressed by the Droid Incredible. I loved my Iphone, and I thought that moving to Verizon to get this phone was going to be a mistake. Its great to say that I was wrong. First, I can multitask. That was huge for me. Second, I can customize the phone a lot more than I could on the Iphone. Lastly, the phone is just as fast if not faster than the Iphone. I love how responsive this phone is with multiple apps running at the time time. Its just incredible (no pun intended). Can I go back to the Iphone? Maybe, but I will miss some of the features of the Droid Incredible.

So, I am loving this phone so far. I am loving the service so far as well.

It's clearly the best phone available in America on the best network in America.

Can't lose - near perfection.

Evo was almost going to top it but because of large size, spotty 4g, kickstand, battery drainer, etc..

Incredible will hold #1 for quite a while.

See 'Big Tymers - #1 Stunna'

Works well in the sun, just not perfectly.. but I can complete any tasks.
GPS is near perfection - owns my magellan.
Battery has been fantastic.

I'll preface my reply by stating that this is my first smart phone- my last phone was an env touch which really made me want a smart phone.

I love this phone. Maybe it's cause I don't know much better but overall I have been incredibly pleased. The battery life could be better, but I experienced on my env touch whenever I got on the internet it would drain the heck out of the battery so I knew what I was in for. I bought the extended battery from Seido and love that I can get through a full day on that battery. Even now after adjusting my sync and various settings I have been squeezing about 10-12 hours out before a charge and that's with moderate to heavy use- heavy use w/ everything running is terrible on the battery- lol

thing about the iphone that I noticed from friends etc that have one is they are always charging it they probably just dont realize it due to all these radio docks out there. But the battery is better than the incredibles- though I think it's hard to tell because it doesn't run programs in the background, nor do they have widgets running etc. No constant running weather app for them! (I love the animations)

All in all I am stoked to have this phone. I love all the personalization, the multiple running programs, the ability to download songs while I am sitting in meetings, the ability to turn any song I have into a notification, ringtone, or alarm! I even have a game (homerun 3d) that I am able to play across platforms against iphone users. ha ha.

Side by side the screen blows away the iphone- in direct sunlight it gets a little tricky but I have the widgets up that let me turn up the screen brightness and I can see it fine. - definately could get a bit better here, but not that bad w/ screen brightness up. Call sounds come in crystal clear for me and accessing the internet is just a great experience!- way better than getting on my ipod touch - which I don't use anymore!!

I came from a Blackberry so I was accustomed to many OS bugs. If this is your first smartphone, don't expect 100% perfection. Like computers and everything else electronic, under the right conditions the device may malfunction. That said...

This phone is terrific. It's as close to perfect as any phone on the market. It's a fun phone and very functional. My only complaint relates to Bluetooth music streaming to a Motorola T505. The music skips a little when played off of an SD card or the internal memory. That's my only complaint. Sure I've had a couple forced closes but I expected much worse given my experience with the Blackberry platform.

I would highly recommend this phone to anyone with the least bit of interest in a smartphone.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. I came from a Blackberry Curve 8330 and while it was slow and the browser was garbage, messaging was superb, I never missed a notification, I never had a single app crash, and I never had problems hearing the phone and/or audible alerts. I've had problems in all these areas with my Incredible. "Push" email is sporadic at best (sometimes the emails don't arrive until I do a manual refresh), I don't seem to get audible alerts all the time, even though the gmail app is set to use them, I've had frequent app crashes, most notably the gmail app, even after doing a factory reset. I also don't like the "one size fits all" approach to volume on the phone. I should be able to set different volume levels for the phone ringer, email alerts, sms/mms alerts, and facebook notifications (oh wait, we don't get those). I also have a hard time hearing the ringer even when it's at full volume. This was never a problem with my blackberry. The Incredible is fast and full of eye candy, but I'm starting to think that's its bread and butter.

I love this phone! My only real complaint was the battery. I was lucky to get 6 hours to totally drained. Then I took the advice of another forum member about turning it off after charge and charging until green, and ever since I've had astounding battery life for a smart phone. I've made no changes in how I use the device but I went from 6 hours if I was lucky to today it's been on for 12.5 hours and I have 54% remaining. So with that problem solved I'm happy. It works well, I love the customization, and it's lightning quick.

I've shown it to iPhone users (in fact I was was before this phone) and EVERY one of them thought it was great and very iPhone like (in a good way). They were especially impressed with multitasking and the level of customization available.

No navigation app is perfect. My Magellan has gotten me lost numerous times.

Battery life is a known "issue". However, I easily get through 12-14 hours on a single charge. I'm at 50% battery and have been off charger for 12 hours.

No phone camera is going to be as good as a dedicAted camera - I don't care how many MP it has.

Never had a crash of any kind here.

Never dropped my phone off a counter, but that's not unexpected in the least.

No phone is perfect. Even the EVO will have flaws and the iPhone has plenty of its own as well.
Please no double posting.

Did you only do this once, or do you do this every day? Nobody can answer this question, lol!

If you can honestly compare this with the 8330 and think of possibly going back to a device like that, then you just have not learned this phone yet. Blacberry does messaging and notifications a little better, thats all. The Incredible is ten fold better at anything else. Other than messaging, it is not a comparable device. Im not saying the 8330 is not a good device, I used one for two years. It is just not comparable to the Incredible, heck it is not even comparable to the Iphone for that matter. Hope this helps!

wow I did not know that about the Advanced Task Killer. I thought it would HELP my battery! Well, right now on my second Incredible (the 1st was buggy and this one has been amazing..except when I dropped and scratched it..) I have been getting about 10 hrs. I am going to try tomorrow w/o ATK. I wonder what the difference will be? I hope better battery life!
