Help S Note Update No Longer Seems To Support Action Memos

Uninstalling and re-installing previous version from apkmirror method works for me but I don't seem to be able to disable the auto update, when first installing I get a prompt that a newer version is available and I can decline that one but next morning I have to repeat the process.
Any ideas to just disable auto update on s-note and nothing else ?

*EDIT* I found a disable auto update option going to Samsung app store so hopefully that will do the trick

I've been a Note fan and owner since the Note 3. The S pen hooked me from the first time I heard of it, then tried it and I don't think I can go back to anything else (almost had to last year but luckily they still had a couple Note 5's around).
Along with probably everyone here, I'm trying to live with Samsung Notes and wondering why they would leave S Note behind and then give us a half baked version of the original from all the complaints.

I just wish Samsung would come out and say WHY. There must be a reason for dropping the most powerful suite in the history of mobile devices. Money was spent on developing S Note. So, why do away with it?
I do remember that at first Action Memo couldn't be backed up. S Notes could but not Action Memo. I'm pretty sure they fixed that with the Note 5? Not sure, I can't remember everything. All I know is they killed Action Memo for good. This was the feature that everyone I know misses completely. Yeah, I know it's "kinda" there now in Samsung pop up note and I can live with that but here's a couple other things I don't get.

S Note itself. In the old days you opened it, picked a template (which were wonderful), did your note and while saving it, you could pick a nice folder cover to put on it. Worked fantastic. Charts, templates, photo notes, several others I can't think of at the moment. Samsung Notes doesn't do squat. You can pic lined or unlined. I think that's it. It's hard to add a photo on a project too. It's there but not easy like S Note. You just tapped the photo button, took a picture and it was right in your note. Not that easy now. Now that you are done with your note you save it. You can add a title to the Note but no cover. Just boring writing on the dang thing. The new Notes look so dumb with just writing globing up your saved notes. This really irritates me. How hard was it to make covers for the new version? Just so classless now.

Another thing I really can't stand about trying to use Samsung Note. You create a Note and look at the lines on the screen. They are about an 1/8 of an inch away from the rounded edge. You cannot write on the rounded edge. So, basically, every time I start a new line, I'm touching on the edge a hair too much and instead of writing, I'm scrolling the page. Now, go start a S Note and do the same lined page. The lines go all the way down the edge. Look where you can write. All the way down the edge. It's not a huge thing but at least when I start writing, I'm not scrolling, I'm actually writing. Plus, that 1/8" on each end is a 1/4" total. This is already a thin width device. Not much room to write across.

Another weird thing. Maybe this is really just me. I liked writing on S Notes all the way to the bottom and then clicking page 2 and going again. With Samsung Notes you just keep writing. This is okay except now my palm scrolls the page down when I'm trying to write. This is aggravating (or as explained before, my S pen scrolls on the edge). Didn't have to worry about that one with S Note.

So, it isn't just the Action Memo that got totally changed. It's the whole experience which was the greatest part of previous Notes. To me anyway.

Not trying to whine or anything. Just some thoughts. I'm really curious as to why they went with a whole new app instead of continuing the same one they had. Weird that they brought the other out. I guess tying to placate the people that are complaining. I'm really trying to embrace the new apps and not go back but some of these things are big (to me anyway).

Not earth shattering stuff, just interesting. Wondering what you all thought on this. Maybe I'm missing new features that are really cool and I need to look past and get over the S Note wonderfulness? This is still by far the best phone out there and I'm not going back to anything else unless they can do a stylus better.

Feel free to send that feedback to Samsung. They're the only ones who can fix this. I have no idea why Samsung would replace S Notes with a version that does less. With 6 GB of RAM, you'd think they would have enough room for everything!

I did. Here's the response.
