Help AOD, lock, home screens - display clock format

Seems odd. I have the display clock set up to read digitally across all four numbers horizontally (hours:minutes, like 11:42) and not like this vertically (two by two)
11
42
When I have a notification and go from AOD to Lock screen the display clock is like 11:42 which is good.
When there is no notification, or when I swipe away the notification on the lock screen, the display clock changes to the two by two display, which I dislike.
Any way to keep all the displays as four digits across horizontal??

There are a few workarounds for the lock screen clock:
1) Have a persistent notification active on the lockscreen (one that cannot be cleared)
2) Download a theme that has a different lock screen clock setup you want
3) a third party lock screen app that can customize the clock

Lastly, if you have a ClearView with stand case, you are SOL as that thing overrides all AOD settings and mockingly rubs that ugly clock in your face.

For 2), can you recommend an example to try to download
For 1), how to set that?
