For an unlocked phone to keep out the bloatware and it seems the trade off is losing the enhanced calling.

Help Anyone getting Enhanced Calling to work on unlocked Note 8 using AT&T?

Unlocked devices do not have the ability of HD or LTE voice. Even worse is HD is required to set up WiFi calling so if you need that in case of poor indoor coverage or an outage you are out of luck.

Is that only for AT&T? Because I do have HD and/or enhanced calling and VoLTE with China Unicom, and the phones here are unlocked, non-carrier devices. No WiFi calling though, but then I've never heard of WiFi calling been available from carriers in this country(China).

So do I on my unlocked phone bought from Samsung carrier free. I am on Verizon. I've had data turned completely off on my phone and still been able to make phone calls. I turned on WIFI calling by going into the main settings and selecting apps > show system apps. Then I scrolled down until I found wi-fi calling and turned the permissions on. That was it...done. I also have VoLTE calls turned on under mobile networks settings.
