Unfortunately, it still refuses to say what version it is. There are almost a literal dozen versions listed on gsm arena for this phone, and it's rather important to know which permutation Amazon is selling at this price.

In the Q&A for the item on Amazon, there seems to be a confirmation that it has dual sim slots and only the H990DS (Global) and H990N (Hong Kong) come with dual-SIM card slots. I would think it was the global version.

It has everything to do with supported bands.
Most often, international phones in practice only have the bands to support AT&T, and nobody else. Maybe it could support T-Mobile, but they rarely do in practice.
The US996 LG V20 can support AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless for service. It doesn't support Sprint, but after my experience with them and their service (or more appropriately, lack thereof), I am in no hurry to ever consider them again.
Depressingly, most phones that do have dual-SIM support also rarely ever support any of the bands that any of the US carriers use. Which is such a load of garbage IMO, because I would love to have the ability to swap providers in such an ultra-lazy fashion.

Ah, well, Verizon and Sprint (and Boost) insist on doing their own thing. I did look this time and the international model will work on T-Mobile or AT&T (and any of the GSM MNVO's)
