I realize most think POP is an obsolete protocol, but for a variety of reasons, I prefer it.

I have been looking for a Free, no Ad, client for my phone that supports creation of "local folders" such as available in Thunderbird (which is not available for Android). I haven't found one, and would be willing to pay for a license. Any suggestions?

I have tried in order of my preference based on limited use..
  • SOL- No folders, but much better than what came with my Galaxy S7
  • Aqua Mail- No folders
  • K9- No folders, complicated interface.
I also was told that TypeApp supports local folders for POP accounts, but when installing saw that it requires access to my identity, Device ID and call information. I'm a bit paranoid about providing such access when it doesn't appear to be required so haven't pursued this App.

MailDroid (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maildroid) does support local folders, but we are ad based (a pro version is available that is ad free)
