Secret flashlight button?

I've ran across this thread a few times. Each time I've googled around trying to see if there's some button combination that activates the flashlight. I cannot find anything that suggests there is.

The only thing I can think of is that you didn't lock the phone when you put it in your pocket and you somehow activated it.

I'll have my pixel 2 XL soon. I'll poke around in the settings when I get it and see if I can find anything.

Not a Pixel 2 but on my LG G6 I can just say "Okay Google" turn on the flashlight and say it again to turn it off even without using my fingerprint to unlock the phone. I was thinking this was a security flaw because the phone is unlocked after I turn it off. I had my co-worker try on my phone with the exact same commands but it didn't work for him. He could not turn on the flashlight and unlock his Samsung Galaxy S7 that way though. I wonder if there is some kind of voice recognition thing going on with "Okay Google" and Google Assistant?

Still looking for that mystery button combination pstroke. I found a bunch of apps that let you turn the flashlight on with a button in the Play Store though. Maybe one of them came pre-installed on your Pixel 2???

I had considered that. Because you can use that command with Oreo. So it's possible that the device activated and thought it heard that.

Also, regarding the security concerns... It should only unlock if it's your voice. But you can also disable that in the settings.

On my pixel it's under settings>security>smart lock>trusted voice

In there, there's a slider to allow or not using "ok Google" to unlock your device. The menus may be different on your LG but the setting is probably there somewhere
