Will the Honor 8 be receiving 8.0 Oreo?

So this seems to be widely debated with some saying no and the others saying it will happen. I thought I'd ask it here and see if anyone has any insight as to what honor plans to update the honor 8 with pretty soon or if you think that the honor 8 is basically done receiving any further updates from this point moving forward. I would very much be upset if that were the case as I just bought my third honor 8 having sold my prior two so that I could buy new phones and test them out. But I'm fairly done with that now having tried almost everything out there and I of course chose the honor 8 to become my long term device. If no more updates are coming then I would probably return it and get a more current device. So what do you guys think about the futures updates to the honor 8?

I can't find any official announcement except for the Honor 8 pro, but according to this:
https://club.hihonor.com/in/lead th...ei-honor-8-pro-honor-6x-revealed.41341?flag=r

It says the Honor 8 is expected to get the Oreo/Emui 6 update.

That is awesome to hear! I'm glad you responded and told me that. It makes me feel much better about my new purchase as I plan on keeping this honor 8 for the long term this time around. My only thing I'm torn over right now and I still have 30 days to decide is whether I should have gotten the 64g instead of the 32g like I did. I got such a good deal on mine only paying $199 so I could not pass that up but now after thinking more about it I wonder if I should have gotten a 64g. I don't download anything other than apps as I stream everything else. That said what do you guys think is best? I've got a 64g SD card in my 32g honor 8 right now. Will I be okay long term with that set up do you think or should I return it and get the 64g instead? Since I hardly download anything I've got roughly 16g left of free space and there is nothing else left that I really need to download. Will I be okay sticking with the 32g long term with that said or should I return it and get the 64g. Right now I've got my default set up to go to the SD card so all my pictures should go to the SD card now but I'm still torn as to what to do. Anyone have any advice to what you think is best that I do please let me know.

You can probably make due with 32 it sounds like. Especially with an SD card. I made due with a 32 gb device but with no SD card support. It was not enough for me personally, but I do a lot of backups of apps and stuff that take up room. I wouldn't personally limit myself to 32 again.

As for the update, it's just speculation. There was nothing that said it's officially getting the update, but hopefully it will.

Honestly only you can know that. From your post it sounds like 32 will be plenty for you. Especially with a 64 gb SD card. So I'd say no, unless you think you might fill that 16 remaining gb.

Hey I appreciate it. I think it's a mental peace of mind thing to be honest bc I rarely download things. I stream movies and music. The only thing is that I've owned the honor 8 before in sapphire blue and black so I really wanted the 64g Pearl White and I have a chance to get it but it's going yo cost me another $60 bucks which I really don't have bc of how many phones I've bought over the past year so your thoughts is that I'll be fine with the 32g correct? So now it really is mental and for a peace of mind and to get the Pearl White color I wanted when I bought this 32g black I currently have and still have time to exchange it. My budget is tight and the 64g will run me another $50 more dollars. I'm torn big time. What do you think I should do and what do you think is best. I have just under 17gs left of free space with a 64g SD card mounted in this black one. It's really coming down to a mental peace of mind with the 64g and to also get the Pearl White color I wanted having already owned the blue and black in the honor 8 before. Anymore feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If you can afford the extra $50 the I'd say go for it. It sounds like it's what you want. It's nice to have peace of mind. In fact I did the same with my last purchase. 64 would have been plenty, but I opted for the 128 gb option just so I don't have to worry about it. Some of this is because my previous device was 32gb and as I mentioned above, it wasn't enough for me personally. So I think I overcompensated a bit on my new device.

If it is going to be a financial burden to upgrade I would say don't but if you can afford it, then treat yourself.

Well I did it. I upgraded to the honor 8 64g in Pearl White. This color is amazing in person. The frame is entirely silver which I really like. I've owned both the Blue and Black honor before so I thought I'd go for a complete change so now I have a 64g in Pearl White. On top of that I talked B&H into selling me the 64g at the same price I paid for the 32g!!  Which all I paid was $199!!  I'm pretty stoked about it. It just arrived today and I'm on it now.

Awesome! Sounds like you got a good deal. Now, let's hope you see an Oreo update!

I know! The honor 8 should have an entire nother year of updates technically but as you know Android you just never know bc they are so dang slow with pushing them out. I think Oreo will be the highest it goes then it'll be over for the honor 8 but I am planning on using it long term this time around as I've tried most everything else out there and I always default back to EMUI. It's my favorite software. It's nothing remotely like Android at all. It's very unique and just different. Also it's more highly customizable than anything else out there. I've downloaded tons of new themes and icon packs along with different fonts. You don't get all three of those with other phones out there. I love the honor 8.
