Why is there a question mark symbol next to my WiFi icon on my Moto X Play?

After the latest update, I got 7.1.1. My phone stopped connecting to my router at home after that and I see the WiFi icon has a question mark next to it! I don't know much about phones but I've tried removing the sim, restarting my phone, airplane mode, basically, everything. HELP!

Here's a few things to try getting your WiFi to work

1. Turn off the router in your house and turn it back on.
2. 'Forget' the network and try again. Go into where you see available network, press on the one in question and press 'forget' then try connecting to it again.

3. Restart your phone

4. See if you're able to connect to other WiFi routers
5. See if other phones can connect to this network

Not sure exactly what the question mark means

I've tried everything! Other phones connect to this network. My phone was connected to it as well. After my update it stopped connecting. :( Also, it connected to a hotspot. So, I don't understand.
