IMPORTANT
YOUR PHONE WILL DO FACTORY RESET SO DONT FORGET TO BACKUP FIRST!

Step one

go to settings and then to About phone. In the About phone click 7 times onto Build Number. It should write that you became developer.

Step two

go back and then go to developer options

turn developer options on and Tick OEM unlocking and USB Debugging.

Step three

connect your phone to computer and install PdaNetA4170.exe

Step four
keep your phone connected to computer and go to android-sdk-windowss folder and run adb.bat file
1. write " adb devices " if you can see any device you are okay. if you cant, you installed your drivers badly.
2. write " adb reboot bootloader " phone should turn off and restart into bootloder menu.
3.Choose fastboot option with volume up and confirm select with volume down button. It should now write fastboot under the three options on the phone
4. on computer write " fastboot oem unlock "
5. on phone confirm with volume up button that you want to unlock oem. It should write unlock pass. if not. restart phone, and enable oem unlocking again and do whole step four process again.
6. on computer, write " fastboot flash recovery newrecovery.img " computer and phone should say that it was successful.
7. on computer , write " fastboot reboot "
8. Phone should restart and boot up normally.

Step five
1. After your phone boot up, you have to go to developer setting and enable usb debugging again.
2. turn off your phone
3. turn on phone to bootloader by pressing power button + volume up button at once. be careful, you have to press power button first and then immediately volume up button.
4. select recovery menu and confirm by volume down button.
5. phone should reboot into our custom recovery mod
6.go to install zip and then install zip from sideload
7. on computer , turn on adb.bat or use one you have already opened and write " adb sideload UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
8. After its transferred you can reboot your phone from recovery menu
9. Enjoy root !

PROBLEMS
If your phone is stucked on rebooting only, you have to go to fastboot, unlock OEM and flash original recovery.

1) fastboot oem unlock
2) fastboot flash recovery stockrecovery.img
3) it should work now

Welcome to our AndroidForums, @Chickyyy.

FYI, I'm guessing some of our members might be a little skittish about downloading a .rar file whose contents they're not entirely sure about (i.e., from your mega.nz download location).

In looking at the download file, I see that you have included files that could probably be easily grabbed from their official locations:

1. the PDA net download:

2. and Chainfire's root v2.46 root package:

I get the all-in-one package thing, but carving the pieces out might put folks' minds at-ease re. this.

Cheers!

Thanks for this! Worked a treat, now have SU.

A few caveats: Downloading from the PDAnet website (4183) doesn't seem to show me any devices in ADB. The version included in the package (4170) does work, however

Following the process booted into recovery automatically, where it asked whether to prevent stock recovery install (I said no) and to install root (I said yes). After reboot into ROM, I found that it had been factory reset. Not too much lost, but a heads up to probably do the rooting first!

Hi, I has a problem with step 4:
"keep your phone connected to computer and go to android-sdk-windowss folder and run adb.bat file"
I has adb.exe file, which doing something after switch on but is too fast to read this and I can't write there any sign or nothing
I installed adb driver earlier with other root programs (which don't work)
What could be bad?

Don't open adb.exe. Open adb.bat

If you cannot see adb.bat download it here - https://mega.nz/#!1IskVL4L!3W10yfApM6w1KHo3Bslo3cW0ZvmMuWdXztAehnCqsLE
and put it into android-sdk-windowss, then run it

I have tried this procedure and now my F3 is stuck in an infinite boot loop. The proposed solution for this:
1) fastboot oem unlock
2) fastboot flash recovery stockrecovery.img

does not work.
This is what I tried to do:
a) rebooted in boot menu. Selected fastboot. Entered the two options. Everything was OK reboot -> infinite reboot loop.
b) rebooted in boot menu. Selected 'recovery mode' -> infinite reboot loop
c) rebooted in boot menu. Selected 'normal mode -> infinite reboot loop
tried newrecovery.img again, no luck.

It seems I am stuck with a bricked phone. Can you help me?
