Disabling Hotspot Functionality

Hello,

I would like to disable the hotspot functionality in this tablet. I want to give this tablet to my customers with a monthly quota of data but I do not want them connecting all their devices and using up all the data.

Any ideas how I can do this?

In order to permanently disable an Android feature, you'd need to root the thing. Another option would be to go to a remotely managed setup when you control access from afar (it's used a lot in store kiosks and fleet tracking). I know IBM has an offering but I can't recall what it is. If you wan't I'll look it up, but it's very pricey.

Thanks so much. I'm actually looking for an economical way. Any idea where I can find someone with experience rooting Android phones and how much they might charge for this?

If you are talking about the ZTE K88, then I'm not sure you're going to have much success. I've read a few threads about rooting it and it doesn't appear to be easy, if even possible.

Read through this and see if it's something you want to tackle.

It's very possible that your carrier can block hotspot functionality on their end. So i suggest you contact your carrier and ask them to block it
