Location of books on Kindle for Android?

... Not sure what I can do with it, but at least I can back it up...
You'd install the Kindle reader on your computer (PC or MAC) and download your books directly ... and have it automatically synced with your Android devices.
... Wish I could MOVE it to the external SD card. Any thoughts on THAT?
IMO no way (without rooted).
For saving storage on my tablet I delete these books that I've finished. They are all stored on the Amazon Kindle server ... and for my own back up, see above :)

That's pretty much what I thought.

I am new to the eReader experience and have a few questions about Kindle books I buy & download from Amazon ...

So, if my Android phone completely tanks, can I re-download it for free to my next Android phone?

And, also download it for free to any or all of my Android pads?

Can I also log in to Kindle or Amazon on my iPhone and re-download it for free?

I take it I can also install it on my PC (WinXP Pro) and also re-download it to that device for free?

Use your file manager 'MyFiles' for to look :)

I think you should look at your internal SD card at the folder Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files/...

I wish it was so simple! I have a rooted Galaxy 4 tab on which I have downloaded books from Amazon and Google Store. I can read these books allright both with the Play Books app and/or the Kindle app ,so the books must be there, but they are NOWHERE TO BE FOUND in my tablet under their titles in the File manager App ( My Files and/or ES Explorer).
The reason why I want to find the location of the Amazon and Kindle books is that I want to read the Google Books with the Kindle Reader app, which has a better interface. I cannot do the copy/paste operation until I know the respective locations. I might eventually have to do some conversion, but at this point I am stuck, if I don't know where these books are.
I have been gong crazy for 2 days!.

All I found in the Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files/...you suggested are numbered files, NO TITLE . They might well be books, but their size is extremely small: only 1-2 bytes and they can't be opened!.. At some point I have come across " emulated" storage. I don't know what it means, unless it is a way to make the books..invisible! I have also looked in all other possible places, unsuccessfully. I can read the books, but their titles are not in the file tree!

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Thank you so much to the people who knew the location. That helped me a little- even kindle support couldn't help with that. I'm looking to import my kindle books into a universal book reader or if I can't do that use a converter to change them to .epub format...any idea how that works? Also I thought all kindle books were in .mobi format. Why don't I see the title in that format?

Ok so you know they USED TO BE stored here, but they aren't any longer. I was going to copy a book I bought elsewhere to this directory like I used to do, only to find that all the books I'd previously copied there were gone. Kindle has apparently moved and hidden it's book directory on us.

I still have that location... make sure you check both the device and SD Card. I set the kindle app to run from the SD Card, yet it still is storing the books on the device. It throws the books into folders inside Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files.

If you move a .mobi file into that folder, the kindle reader will pick it up. At least it did for me on my Galaxy s4 with the current release of the app. I would really like to force the app to use the SD card though. It's pretty stupid to force a large file store to be on an OS partition imo.

.mobi is old Kindle files. Now I believe the main file is an .azw file, though some additional data may be stored on other files with the same number as the main one. Check Wikipedia. A search for "*.azw" should turn them all up.

When I download a book ti my S4, where is that file located? On my device or SD card? Which folder?

Thank you!
The location has been noted elsewhere, you can also use Astro File Manager and search for Kindle. That will locate ...Kindle/Files. If you want a copy, you can choose to download to your PC instead of Android. If you want to upload from your Android to your PC, I suggest using Copy/Paste to copy the Files Folder with the Astro File Manager into DropBox. Then move the Files folder from DropBox to a temp location for sorting. That frees the storage from DropBox. Astro File Manager and DropBox are both free.

Ok, so I have that file location mentioned, com.amazon.kindle/files one. But there is no book in there (and I have hidden files set to show) I am able to read my book in the kindle for android app but there is no file on my phone. I searched for .azw .mobi and .prc file types but no results found. I am trying to use it on a speed reading app but I can't find the file. Please help.

Thank you. Found it.

/Mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files & that is where it is.

Not sure what I can do with it, but at least I can back it up.

Wish I could MOVE it to the external SD card. Any thoughts on THAT?

Thanks.
If there is a similar problem, you can reboot or refresh the page on your Android phone , but before do it , you need to backup
