Metal Detector is an app that can turn your android device into a working Metal Detector.

Features

The app can detect the following things :

1) Magnetic attracted metals.

2) Magnets.

3) Magnetic Fields.

4) Devices that have Magnetic Fields.

The app can make your phone detect those from a distance starting from 1 to 10 centimetres

Depending on :

1) Your Mobile Phone

2) The Metal Type.

The app is powered with a Theme Editor that allows you to customize the app colours to your favourite colour .
There is 19 colours included in the Theme Editor.

The app is also powered with Sound Effects that will make your experience even more amazing and fun .

If you do not like the Sound Effects or the Vibration the app have a settings menu that you can turn off and on those there .

The app is designed for accuracy so you will be able to see the readings of the total field

and the X , Y , Z axes

and also check the accuracy of the detection.

What phones has this been tested on and what range does it work at.

What materials does this work through on those devices and what depth?

Well the app uses the phone magnetometer sensor to detect Metals

It depends on the Metal Type and the phone type\

The app have the ability to detect only Magnetic Attracted Metals not because of the app but because this is what at max phones can do

I have tested it with Huawei Gr3 2017

Also known as P8 Lite 2017

It worked with Magnetic Attracted Metals and detected Electronice devices

Electronic devices was about 3-6 cm

Metals was from 2-5 cm

so you have to crawl around on your knees? or hook up a selfie stick? will it separate gold silver tin?

It is better to use a selfie stick of sure while the app it self use the phone Magnetometer to find Metals

Note : This is the max phones can do

Phones cannot differentiate between metals

The app idea is to use the phone compass sensor to detect changes in magnetic fields and calculate them to check if the following is A Metal

So any Metal that affect a compass Magnetic Field will be detected by the app

And as I said before there is a free version of the app you can try it

i can see this being useful only in an emergency--such as a wedding where someone lost their ring or something--
