Some Pixel 2 owners are claiming the USB Type-C headphone adapter doesn't work

Some owners of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have claimed that the headphone adapter that was included in the box has stopped working. For one user, Google has sent out a replacement for the adapter in hopes that there's nothing wrong with the device itself.

Do the blogs report every time a Samsung's headphones or jack stop working, or a Huawei's earpiece, or every time a few users find something odd after updating a Moto's software?

Just getting the feeling that there's a bandwagon amongst them now, where any issue with even a single Pixel 2 is a "news" story.

(Mind you, I'm using a HTC adapter with mine, with the Google one in one of my bags as spare, so wouldn't know if there was a QC issue beyond the fact that it worked a couple of months ago).

All the blogs want to be first to jump on a story but it shouldn't be a story unless a critical mass of users report the issue. However, sometimes these stories help alert the critical mass of a problem they wouldn't have known existed or reported.

It's all kind of a weird circle but I agree that they get reported too often or early in many cases.
