Oreo update messed up notification sounds

Has anyone else experienced there notification sounds have messed up since the latest Oreo update? I can now no longer have my text message different than my standard message.

What text messaging app are you using?

You should be able to adjust the notifications on a per-app basis at Settings > Apps & notifications > All apps > App name > Notifications.

I use the Verizon messaging+ have for years. I've gone into my general setting, vibrate is off. But now the sound I've set for just my message+ app is different and it vibrates. I don't want the vibrate and I've lost control over my sounds. Not happy. Have uninstalled the Verizon message + app and it didn't change.

And now with the Oreo update, I can't even chose a sound in the Message+ App. I uninstalled and reinstalled it nothing. Not happy and hope that they fix this asap before my husband's phone updates to the Oreo.

The latest phone app update broke waking the phone up if it's connected to a bluetooth device. You have to revert back to the older version and then lock out auto-update so it won't take the latest version. But I'm not seeing any issues with sounds and messaging. That sounds like a Verizon issue. Did you try clearing the cache for that app?
The latest (v16) phone app update actually fixes that issue which was introduced on v15. ;)
