Samsung Galaxy J7 (Verizon)...Chrome the only browser???

Wife got a new Samsung Galaxy J7 from Verizon about a month ago. As I continue to set it up to be the way we want, I notice that Google Chrome appears to be the only browser choice. Shouldn't the stock (basic) Samsung Internet browser also be an optional choice? I can't find it anywhere. Did it mysteriously disappear or has it deliberately been eliminated by either Samsung or Verizon???

Where did it go???

Thanks for the quick reply.

It wouldn't surprise me that Verizon (or whatever carrier) would want to omit any particular app or feature to highlight their own stuff. Nonetheless, is this most likely the case (omission of the app) or should the Samsung version of the basic browser be there regardless? If it's supposed to be there, has it somehow disappeared and I can't find it?

I'm questioning this possible omission (or mysterious loss) because we also just bought a new Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet and it has the same operating system version: Nougat 7. The tablet has both Google Chrome and the Samsung basic "Internet" browser. Granted, the tablet is not tied to a cell phone provider.

I'm probably confusing myself but any answer to this will be welcomed.

Nope...it's not in there either. I'm gonna have to go with the deliberate omission by Verizon as the most probable answer for now.

The phone and the tab both got a Chrome update last week and they both work reasonably well except for the mysterious drop in font size on both units. That necessitated changing the overall font size. That's OK for now. The only problem I have yet is that the "X" to close the bookmarks (favorites) has always been missing from the tab's Chrome. I guess we can live with that too as I'm sure no one would consider that a real problem and I probably wouldn't live long enough to see that problem posted herein the AndroidForums.

Each manufacturer and carrier configure their phones as they like, so there's really nothing to sweat over, it's the way it is, everywhere, device by device.

No argument there. It's certainly nothing to lose sleep over.

My question remains: is the Samsung browser supposed to be on the (our) phone and it somehow disappeared or has it most probably been deliberately omitted by Verizon? If it's supposed to be there, where did it go and how can I get it back? Otherwise, no big deal. I'll just use the Chrome they gave us. I don't love it but it works OK.

Thanx for the comments.
