What is the display night mode setting that inverts black and white, but still allows photos to not show up as a negative ??

Yes, but I'm talking of whole phone, including anyway to set it to go to this inverted display say between 3am and 7am, in case I wake up and check it and don't want to be blinded, though I probably shouldn't check it.

I recall a setting that inverted display but also made photos as negatives which annoyed me, mrsgreen67

I know there was a weird three home button tap to do it on an iPhone, but I don't recall anything like that for Android

this setting is to reduce eye strain. many phones have this.

there is no schedule to set to use this mode. its either on or off.

you can use the blue light filter setting on a schedule. you can also turn down your screen brightness.

There is an automatic sunrise/sunset option for the blue light filter.

I can't think of why a colour inverter would be useful in any situation to be honest, I thought they were just filters to make an image look pretty.
