Well, after looking at them for a long time, I bought a Hauwei Watch, Just got it last night.
After changing the battery in my old Timex Perpetual, all date functions reverted to an unknown year. My manual says only the factory can reprogram it, and they don't answer my emails.

As a watch, the Hauwei beats any other perpetual on the market. A Black Friday sale on Amazon put the price below a Seiko, and I can find faces that display what I want, how I want to see it.I don't even reset the time for Daylight Savings, or when traveling to Europe. My phone gets free 2G in Europe.

I'm starting to love this watch. I had lasic 5 years ago, but my 70 year old eyes are starting to come back.
The Hauwei screen is much easier for me to see than most other watches with day/date functions. That will let me put off glasses for a while longer.

I'm still working through some issues, more curiosity than required functions. My questions:

1. Can I adjust the primary face to display longer than 5 seconds? Say 10 seconds? If so, how?

2. The installed watch face with digital time top and weather bottom has no weather. It also doesn't have a settings icon like the dual time has. Is the problem with the watch face? If so, I'll download a new one.
I know I have connection to Google and my phone. I used Google to download an App.

3. The manual states the watch will over ride my car Bluetooth unless I disconnect the watch. I haven't tried it yet. It seems pretty easy to disconnect, will it be as easy to reconnect?

I guess those are my questions, as I don't really want the watch to replace my phone.

Hi there and welcome to Android Forums! You're gonna love the Huatch!

1. The ability to adjust screen on time varies with the watchface... for example, I can set mine to 7 seconds, or 10, or always. Long press the watchface, tap the settings gear under it and see what you can adjust.

2. I HIGHLY recommend Black Metal HD watchface. It's worth every bit of what it costs for the premium version, because of the sheer ability to adjust everything. It has three complications: the 12:00 has the date and weather: if you tap the date, your calendar comes up. If you tap the weather, the forecast comes up. The 9:00 complication has options, but I like the phone and watch battery percentage. The 3:00 complication has a step counter, which I don't use... but you can put any app complication there. I put the Bring! Shopping List there. I also have the app on my phone, my Darling Bride's phone, and it's an Alexa skill! So I can literally have my shopping list on my watch! If I'm at the store and she's home, and suddenly remembers we need fresh basil, she just says to the Amazon Echo "Alexa, open Bring and add basil to the list." And BOOM! Basil pops up on my phone's list. It's freaking amazing.

3. I have never had this watch disconnect the Bluetooth connection with my vehicle, headset, or any other device. The Huawei Watch connects to your phone using Bluetooth LE (Low Energy), which is a whole separate channel from your regular Bluetooth connection. It should not be a problem at all.

I hope this answers your questions - if you have any more, just ask!

1. & 2. They seem to actually be tied together. I'll be downloading Black Metal HD, it seems to be the ONLY watch face with a "Screen On Time Selector". The Google Play Store shows only the Free version, which has a note that it contains ads for in-app purchases. Is that the only way to get the upgrade version? Do you remember the cost? Do I download it from the phone or Android Wear? Or does it matter?

3. I just took my house and cell phones out to the car. The phone worked both ways just fine. I wonder where that statement in the manual came from?

MANY thanks for taking the time to clarify those items.

What is the context of Chief in your sig? Just a nosey question from a retired Air Force Chief.

Edit: Added: I couldn't find a way to download/install the Black Metal watch face from Android wear, so I tried from the watch, it worked. It immediately asked me to upgrade, and I did. I was able to set the "on" time to 10 seconds. But, Black Metal is the only one I can find that does it.
