Hey messi hows it goin?
sorry@Astr4y4L i decided to stay out after all what happened lately all i can help you with is that you can modify system partition from inside twrp or after installing magisk using any root explorer [adding, deleting files], zte bootloader is not so complicated so there is a possibility that it can be patched to allow bootloader unlocking and therefore it can become as any other bootloader unlocked device allowing to install custom roms..etc to protected partitions, that's all i found from my short check, hope it helps you.regards.

Yeah it's good to know, I dont have hands on one yet, but soon as i get one I'm going to try to get on down that road.
and want to see the partitions and block device.
I know ,
your aware,
that when I get my hands on a full dump of this phone we're going all in to pull binaries and try to find any combination of exploits that can be done from the device it's self.
MOST Krapware and vendor libs, sh scripts and such are full of holes. it's just a matter of extracting the partitions and then the data from those to find the key-hole...

I don't care about all of the politics going on.
what I'm here for is to bring this little green android guy to his knees,
and I'll do what ever I gotta do to make that happen LoL.

it's a personal Challenge from an old friend or I wouldn't be to begin with LoL.

Keep your head up dude, don't let the politics getcha,
it produces nothing and makes ALL of US HERE,
look like a bunch of squabbling 4 year-olds.
I've decided I wont be a party to that.

I do think you have made leaps and bounds here no matter what handle is used to drop the finished work...

but agree with the outlook that paying $50 for root is pretty steep.
I only charge $20 over at my website for the Zone 3 and
Canadian K4-k121 remote rooting services, and My roots are complete root, meaning when I'm done, I OWN YOUR DEVICE, till I disconnect ... then My Client Owns His Device for ever afterwards.

so Yeah that's where I'm at in all of this and Will remain Neutral.
MY TARGET IS that green ANDROID GUY , ya know?

READ THIS.

This thread has gotten out of control, repeatedly. That ends, now.

From here on out, we're adopting a zero-tolerance policy on personal attacks in this thread. This is a thread for discussing root on the Zmax Pro - not for airing your dirty laundry. Check your drama at the door before you enter this thread.

I don't care who started it, we will finish it.

Use this thread to discuss strategies, compare notes, share findings, etc. It's fine to disagree or want to test and verify a claim, but it MUST be done in polite, civil, adult manner.

If you see a post which violates this, don't respond to it. Use the Report button to bring it to our attention instead.

Attack the issues - NOT each other.

Please don't make me regret re-opening this thread.

With this so called jailed root. Can we modify the build.prop? If so we can activate the Engineer Root mode if it is still intact within the phone and possibly change the system to permissive.
It's not a jailed root you can edit build.prop or any [system] partition file, i updated twrp yesterday to 3.2 and now you can install boot/recovery images through twrp also removed the middle cursor and mounted more partitions you can have a full root on a locked bootloader device but changes to some partitions will get reverted on restart, system and recovery partitions changes stay.

Awesome. I was hoping we would be more than capable of editting them. I really want userdebug and SBS for ALL apps on my system when i want it. Know what i mean? This crappy lockdown that they put on us is ridiculous. Btw. Is it possible to delete the dmverity so we dont get slammed with the altered OS security lockdown screen when we have the OEM unlock option disabled in dev options?

hey @messi2050
so what's the skinny Man?

I mean, said its not jailed root....
can i get a progress update?
what does work what don't

I'm guessing you say some partitions revert on boot, could that be in any part due to
recovery-on-boot the pascal script found in a lot of these phones?

what about those partition dumps?
connection still too slow?

I mean if it's a slow connection you could upload it to gdrive...
and send a link...

Really want a look at this device LoL!

Hey, i didn't have the chance to test much (no longer have access to a z981 device) you can dump any partition with np, yea i have 40:50 kb upload speed so it takes much time to upload a single image, you can ask anyone from those who already rooted their devices to upload it.

It would help to tell us who has successfully rooted it. From the public announcement you made offering to root devices, there are obviously loads of people who contacted you wanting the phone to be rooted.
Thanks.

Idk, tried to help some but it completely failed.

Ok, just so we're all on the same page here - there's a temporary root solution, but it doesn't survive a reboot, and doesn't allow access to /system partition. Until someone unlocks the bootloader, the possibilities are limited. I know you've done some good work pulling stuff together, and hopefully you and the other folks in co-operation can come up with a full root solution.

It's not a temp solution it's a full permanent root that can't be achieved without uat, idk why you keep repeating same things, i already make that permanent root point clear earlier try to read about locked bootloader devices so you better understand what we are talking about , i can modify some testing bootloaders but the same problem will exist forever, how to flash any file to zte zmax pro z981 without the 50$ uat tool!

My root survives reboot. I've only been able to read system partitions using root, but cannot modify it. I can only write system partitions from TWRP. Other than that root works perfectly fine with every other root application I've used.

So I asked politely for you to provide details of people you'd helped to root their phone, in order to provide @Astr4y4L with the partition information he requested. And you said

So can you provide details of of people you helped, or not?
I didn't manage to help anyone and you can see i deleted my offering help post since yesterday :p, it was just a workaround i thought about that failed due to my slow connection, all those who rooted their devices did it on their own using uni android tool by following my guide and using my twrp.
