For more information I do not have any type of SD card installed on my device. I dont use any type of external storage at all. The amount of storage involved in this app is only at 16KB, but it seems under memory it shows as always running. Why would this be has anyone else run into this before? Its under system apps External Storage version 6.0.1. I have a Droid Maxx 2.

When going through my Device I saw the system app External Storage as Always running why is that?

It's the service that determines if an SD has been inserted or not, and automatically mounts it as external storage. I think If that wasn't active, you might insert an SD, Android wouldn't see it, and you might be howling about it.

I see I was just paranoid that something was sending data to external storage, but that makes a lot of sense. I always take notice to whats cached in my developer options part of my phone to see whats running. The system apps always running are Package installer and Helper, and External storage, and Documents. There Cpu usage always seems to be roughly around 10mb.
