Shortcut or swipe gesture to swipe down notification bar

I'm loving my new Moto Z2 Force, but I'm missing one particular feature.
On my last Android I had a down arrow on the bottom right corner that would bring down the notification bar without having to swipe down from the top of the screen. Is there a way to add that to the Moto gestures or to the navigation bar?

My LG G4 and G5 had it. I could customize the whole bar, and that was one of its options.
I don't remember what version of Android it was

I see it in the LG G4 users manual. I have never seen it on any Motorola device.

Not as elegant as a little down arrow but if you can live with a full size app icon try Pull Down Status Bar available for free in the Play Store.

I especially like the developers description:

"Adds 2 shortcuts to your phone that you can tag to pull down notification bar.

Super simple and completely free. No ads, no usage tracking, no in-app purchase, no BS. I wrote this for myself because all the ones I have tried from the play store were either not working or infested with Ads."

If the objective is to control it only on the home screen ... an alternative could be to use Nova Launcher Prime and have notifications toggled with a double-tap anywhere on the home screen.
