[Of course, I am still trying to determine if this is the correct thread for my phone] I found this link, https://www.androidinfotech.com/2017/09/j3-prime-2017-sm-j327t-nougat-cf-root.html, that claims to be able to root the J327T. I am hoping to find someone that can confirm this? This link was posted in the https://forum.xda-developers.com But, no one over there has confirmed whether it can successfully root this phone?

EDIT: I missed this. The above article states the method requires an Unlocked Bootloader. My understanding is that this phone does not meet this requirement?

About Boot Loaders:
1. Why do manufacturers release Locked Bootloaders for some of their phones?
2. Is this more common with some manufacturers than others?

answers,

1. Ya know, I think it's mostly that the OEM makes the device for the carrier. and the carriers ask the OEM to lock it down so you , the end user cant delete the carrier installed krapware, adware, and generally to make my life rooting phones difficult LoL

If you cant tell I kinda hate em' for it too.

2. it's more common to find locked bootloader in low to mid grade phones.
if you buy the high end devices they come ready to tweak to your hearts content.

also,
don't buy a phone from carriers, ATT, Boost, Sprint etc.
buy it from
LG, Samsung, etc directly. and you get more options like network unlocked and rootability, along with unlocked bootloaders.

This is what I was afraid of. Us poor folk get less options. One further caveat: I use Greenify. It is possible to use Greenify on system apps. i.e. Samsung [fill in the blank] apps, Metro, etc. The question is, and Greenify warns U about this, is that Greenifying system apps can make your device unstable.

ya know, i'm not so sure greenify will be able to affect system apps... without rooting...
I could be wrong on that tho...

you might try a terminal command like
pm hide "stupid apps name here"
or even pm disable " app name"
