Help ZTE ZMax Pro keeps saying "Android is optimizing" on boot

My ZTE Zmax Pro keeps saying, 'Android is optimizing, optimizing app 1 of 1' during every boot. When I first got the phone, it didn't do this. I don't know what is wrong with it. Help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like an app (Google) update or two is likely the cause, factory reset and see if the problem persists

That "Android it optimizing" message is when the OS has updated or changed and the apps need to be recompiled for the runtime environment. Before you reset, you might try booting into recovery and clearing the system cache partition.

If that doesn't work, then I guess a reset is in order.
It is usually rebuilding the ANT cache or something like that. Sounds like an app, or it's cache is messed up.

I also had that happen (EVERY boot) with Greenify installed..

I an having same problems as reported above and have done all suggestions above and still behaving same. Sometimes it takes an hour just to boot up.

You as well? Sounds like it might be a buggy firmware release from ZTE that's causing it on this phone. In which case hopefully ZTE are aware of it and can possibly fix with another OTA firmware update.

Happened to me on Monday after i left my phone out in the sun for audio recording. It shut off on its own due to overheating and took forever to boot up due to throttling(stuck on optimizing).

TL/DR Keep your phone cool...
Yeah before my phone had this optimization problem, my phone was hot but it would get hot easily from charging it for just 5 minutes, and I don't use my phone when it's charging.

To all of you. My husband and I just had this problem with both of our ZTE Max ..he saw somewhere on a thread on some other site to delete Zedge..they said since the new Zedge update a week or so ago they've all had this problem with nothing fixing it untill now. We both deleted Zedge immediately, rebooted and sure enough..it booted up nice and fast. I don't know if this will fix all of you but it worked for us tonight . Things seem to load fast as well. Good luck.

I've had this problem for awhile aswell, uninstalled Zedge and it loaded without that message,my advice to people don't have Zedge who's having this problem to uninstall apps that interacts with the system in any way, like what you think might be the cause, it's probably a system issue, but an app could be triggering it such as Zedge.

I don't have Zedge on my phone. It could be another app doing it or its a bad update. When I first noticed it was doing it, it listed that it was optimizing 7 apps. Now after a few restarts, its down to optimizing 1 app for a solid 15 minutes at boot. Then when it does boot, it runs iffy and android crashes alot. I think the (app) it keeps trying to optimize at start is the Android OS or something with ZTE. I'm running Android 6.0.1 and system update Z981 V1.0.0B14. When I tell it to update it says everything is current. Pretty frustrating. I really like this phone and its turning into a turd. Going to start uninstalling stuff to see if its a bad app, but I think its the newest ZTE update doing it.

Look into the ZTE Ban from the Trump administration

These days I would not put anything past anyone.

A little update on my phone. I went to stock Android in apps, cleared data and catche and block all notifications. It made the stock weather app on the home screen go crazy, requesting access to stock Android. I deleted the weather app because it's never really worked right anyway. This seems to have stabilized the phone for now. The only drawback is the phone still does the 15 minute "app optimization" at boot and all of my icons on the home screen were deleted. I had to rearrange them back the way I had them. The stock android crash has stopped for now :D

That sounds like the default launcher was updated and in the process all the old settings were lost. Annoying for sure.
