Greetings all,

How to disable location notifications, please?

When I travel and GPS location is enabled, I get notifications such as "Quick question about ...", etc. about places I stop. I find these annoying and cluttering.

Thank you.

I believe the notification prompting you to answer quick questions about places you visit is generated from Google Maps. To disable it, open Maps, swipe in from the left edge of the screen to access the navigation drawer, tap Settings > Notifications > Your contributions and disable Questions about places (or all of them, if you don't want to see any of those prompts).

There are also notifications generated by the Google app which provide information about nearby places (menus, transit times, etc.). If you don't wish to see those, open the Google app, tap the menu button at the bottom-right, then Settings > Notifications > Your feed > Nearby places & transit and disable Show notifications.

Thank you very, very much. It seems like all the "Your contributions" are exactly what I found to be so intrusive.
