Hello everyone. get a Nexus 6p recitemente from a friend and the same has the following problem: it does not show the network signal there is only a warning in the upper corner of the screen saying "no service". I already used the codes * # * # 46 ... but every time I try to change the band it says "failed". so I installed Chroma Rom to test and get the same results from the previous tests, I also can not turn on the radio, and I click the power button but it does not turn on. I also installed a different radio band and it did not work. every time I try to make a call it returns with a warning that I have to turn off airplane mode, but airplane mode is not even connected in this case. I'm in Brazil and I've tried several chips all without success. Sorry, I'm using the translator. some screenshots below

What do you mean "installed a different radio band"? You can't, except for a very few special cases, change a phone's radio compatibility by flashing different firmware on it, and if that is what you have tried (or your friend did previously) it might be where your problems started.

Personally I would install a factory image built for the precise model number of the phone you have, overwrite any modifications that have been made and get it back to stock, then see whether you still have a problem.

I already installed the image manufactures at least 3 times since the android 6 and even then the problem continues, then I saw on xda that installing other radios could resolve, but it did not work. I have seen other reports from people who used 6p in other countries and presented the same problem, but I have not seen an effective solution yet. I do not know what to try anymore

If your carrier is using a non-compatible radio band with the 6p, then I think you will be out of luck. Supported frequencies are determined by hardware, not drivers. Who's your carrier?
I think it comes to that too, every time I try to change the radio band I get a "failure" warning like this one in the image. I've tried all the brazilian operators: Hi, Tim, Claro. Live

I'd be very careful about flashing different radio firmware - that's pretty much the only way I know of to actually "brick" a Nexus device. Similarly, I wouldn't try changing the band or other radio options via the *#*#4636#*#* menu. Those options aren't exposed to users for a reason: changing the wrong option may actually permanently render the radio inoperable.

Changing a bunch of variables without really knowing what they do is a great way to end up with a broken device.

I don't have any other recommendations though. Given what you've tried already my money is on a hardware problem.

But any 6P model should at least have 2G GSM compatibility in Brazil, and both models cover both 3G (UMTS) bands as well. And in fact both versions have LTE bands 3 and 7, so compatibility shouldn't be an issue.

Are we sure the problem isn't that it's rejecting the SIM for some reason?

BTW there's a difference between flashing a different radio firmware and a different band - updating the firmware can be done to fix other problems. But I really don't think you need to swap a different model's firmware for frequency compatibility (and would be very dubious about doing that).

as I said, I entered the forum xda to get more information regarding the error, I already tested several methods sujeridos la, including putting a tape on the tray of sim so that the same sim car of the board connectors, but also did not solve . they said there that the chroma rom would solve, because it has more bands, but in her also when I select the different band always retona the error "fault".

in xda I found several reports with the same complaint as mine, others even had the network signal on the screen, but had no connection or lte

A ROM cannot give a phone more radio bands. I could imagine that if it's based on a different version's software its service menu might offer more options, but unless the phone's hardware and radio firmware were compatible with that then nothing good would come from trying to use them (the radio firmware has to be compatible with the ROM, but is not part of a custom ROM). Anyway, in terms of frequency bands a completely stock 6P should be compatible with Brazilian networks, so in principle none of that should be necessary.

So I can think of 4 reasons why it wouldn't work:

1) it's rejecting your SIM (though I don't see any warning in your status bar)
2) the carrier is not allowing it to connect to the network
3) the phone is badly messed-up (see @codesplice's warning above about playing with the service menu). Very badly if flashing a stock system image (with full wipe) doesn't fix it.
4) there is a hardware fault

There may be others, but those seem the most likely options to me. Do you know which Nexus 6P model it is?

the sim cards I used work very well on other devices.
the modem of my nexus 6p is H1511
