Fire Stick Flashing "Authorizing" Signal On Opening

Hi
Having all sorts of problems opening Hulu on myFire Stick as soon as It reaches the log in stage it starts flashing"Authorization" on a large label. This stops me from loading my activation code. I had it up and running for two days then this "Authorization" signal started constantly flashing all the time so I removed the app then reinstalled it again. But this flashing "Aurthorization" signal has stopped me in my tracks. All my other apps are working fine Netflix etc but this one has me beat I have tried everything I can think of and now my brain feels like the size of a grain of salt.. Hopefully someone has the right answer for me on this one as I can assure you I will be one truly grateful man. Many thanks in advance ubetido (John)

Having same issue with hulu and showtime, so frustrating!

Looks like multiple people reporting the same problem, so could be something that they(Hulu?) needs to fix. Maybe worth contacting their tech support and enquiring about it.

Further information in regards to my Hulu connection problem. The IP I am using is San Francisco and Hulu tell me I need a IP closer to "Home" I am in Australia and up until September last year had no problems with Hulu. My "Home" US address is Portland Oregon. but I am having all types of trouble trying to add a US IP to my Fire Stick.

It appears as though Amazon have fixed the Hulu connection problem or perhaps it was Hulu. My service is working fine now. I can now get some value out of my Hulu subscription. My Hulu Android system had been down since September 2017 and now it is back to full service operation. One happy chappy.

False alarm worked OK for a day then back to same problem authorisation bar blocking full connection to service. Definately a Hulu problem. I have tried all types of Hulu downloads with the same results what a pain. Must be costing Hulu heaps with people dropping out from their services.

It could that Hulu is determining that you're using a VPN and that you're possibly not in the US, and so is blocking access. One method if your apparent IP address comes up as say 'Acme VPN' rather than something like Comcast or Time Warner.

Hulu want me to have a IP closer to my "Home" US Postal address as they say San Francisco is too far away VPN's locations do not stop access to all other sites that are not linked to Hulu it is Hulu's way of saying do it our way or else. I am signed into Hulu which means I can access the other networks that I subscibe to through Hulu but not actual "Hulu" programs as I keep getting the "authorization sign interferance signal stopping viewing of that program. Just seems so childish to me as I am paying Hulu for the programs I want to watch. I pay extra for no adds

FWIW I use ExpressVPN mainly because I'm in China, and I could select a server with an IP in San Francisco if I wanted. Would that keep Hulu happy? I don't have a Hulu subscription to try it myself of course

Mine has not improved. On rare occasion I can get it to work while testing every vpn location and clearing the cache but that flashing “authorizing” makes me want to throw everything out the window! I can even get it to load and pull up my shows list and sometimes even play them but that authorizing still wont go away. I’ve also noticed that express vpn locations don’t show up anywhere near the location we select. I also use my I.P. App to detect the location and 90% of the time my Los Angeles location shows up
As New Jersey and Seattle at Dallas ‍♀️

Came accross this thread searching on Google for a fix for the same issue on a Fire TV with a VPN. It has to be something on Fire specifically because Roku works fine with the exact same setup and so does my MiBox (android TV) and all phones too. I've got my VPN installed at my router since I live overseas and need it to watch most of my stuff.

"workarounds" are to use another device or turn off the VPN. I also have a router running SmartDNS proxy which works great with Hulu on Fire and has 0 speed reduction so I've been using that but its not nearly as private as a VPN is. Sucks to have to go into settings and change networks every time I want to watch Hulu though, or actually get up and switch the hardwired cable on my FireTV.

If anyone has a solution to the VPN issue I'd love to hear it besides the workarounds I've come up with.
