After the update, now on my lock screen I have a lock icon I have to press to unlock. Can't figure out how to get rid of this. Also I have a constant notification to log into my samsung account. If I swipe it away it's back within 5 minutes. It seems to take me to something about storybook sharing. I have never set this up and never logged in. How can I get rid of this constant notification?

Go in your security settings and adjust for the lock.

Go into Samsung pass and edit/adjust your settings. Take a screen shot of the nag screen so others can help answer what it may be.

What is your carrier?
Verizon

Verizon. I went into security settings and not sure what to change. The first screen shot shows the "tap here to use Samsung account" which is always on the lock screen. The second screen shot is where is takes me when I tap here.

do you have any banking apps? or any apps that use biometrics?

if so, this may be why you see these nag screens.

oreo has added extra security steps in that you must use (or recommended to use) an additional lock setting (pin number for example) to add an extra layer of security to your device. maybe the OS wants you to setup a samsung account for more protection? speculation here.

setting up your samsung account is not such a big deal. you don't need to add any of your personal data to it.

at the end of the day, you can contact verizon and /or samsung and ask why you are seeing this. most likely its due to something new in Oreo...

I've asked this before but guess I wasn't clear but I now have an extra screen or two to unlock after update. Here are my steps to wake up my phone. Press power button and get below screen

Then I press the unlock button and get the next screen

Then I swipe and get to my homescreen. I've tried changing all types of settings but nothing helps. Anyone have any ideas on how I can just swipe once and get to my homescreen?

So you dont use aod screen.

For me i just tap the square at the bottom on the AOD screen and the phone comes to life.

When i press the power button, i get the first screen you have. Then I swipe up and im at the home screen.

So its possible to get to the homescreen with one button press or even your finger (or iris).

It depends on the situation you have your phone in (using AOD or not for example) and potentially if you have location detection turned on (so the phone will unlock in ares you designate safe).
