Note 8 Getting Oreo Now

If you're referring to the updated Samsung keyboard, I agree: there are plenty of features that are easily accessible. However, I've used SwiftKey (as have millions of other people) for years and their keyboard is just as feature-packed as Samsung's. The added benefit is being able to theme the keyboard (I prefer the Neon theme). But right now there's a contentious conversation in the SwiftKey Support Forum over their decision to make the default emoji tab the "crystal ball" predictions, based on what emojis generally follow the last words entered. We are absolutely flame-spraying SwitfKey over this, and demanding the option to make RECENT emojis the default. Why should we have to sort through SwiftKey's best guess of what emoji we want to use when they're right there in Recents? I understand that an update allowing just that is forthcoming. It had better be soon.

In the interim, I used the Samsung keyboard as an alternative, in case I had to make good on my threat to uninstall SwiftKey if the update didn't roll out by the end of April. It's okay... but it's not SwiftKey. I hope Samsung enables keyboard theming very soon: if that happens, it'll be a force to be reckoned with!

Nope: Beta version is at 7.02.14 and it still defaults to the crystal ball. I understand that version 7.02.15 defaults to Recents. Waiting impatiently!

EDIT: SwiftKey notified users in the SwiftKey Support Forums that an update is currently rolling out which will default to the last emoji tab used. Awesome news!

Well My (Asian) SM-N950F/DS is finally getting the Update (Well I take it it is Oreo as it is 1472.23MB) Today.
It will take ages to download - out here in the Cornfields of OH we can only get apx 7M D/L speeds (Wireless to a Cell & Silo w/Internet on it)

I will be updating to Oreo as soon as it finishes and my BackUp finishes

As long as your phone isn't on top of a pole you're OK...

I use the Samsung keyboard these days as it is themed along with the rest of my phone through the Samsung Theme Store. It took a couple of minutes to get my bearings but it works fine for me now that I have moved a few things around in it to better fit my needs.
One thing I don't like very much is the notification snooze. I pretty much disabled every app from that the first time it started going off while I was driving. An alarm every minute when you can't stop can get very annoying very fast! Even changing the snooze length I can see that alarm annoying me. Especially since it doesn't indicate which application it is snoozing!

Did they FINALLY put a ". com" button on the keyboard? They have been begged to do that for years!

Okay, this is the last post about SwiftKey and we need to get BACK ON TOPIC before I have to ban myself...

:p

No, there is not a .com button on the keyboard; quite frankly, I'm not sure where they would put one. If I frequent a website or type it a lot, the entire web address usually comes up as a prediction. I guess you could always add ".com" to your dictionary and it should autocomplete after the "c"...
