S7 Edge, Android 7, Nova launcher
My issues occurs identically with Okay Google and S-voice and only when using the hotphrase to lauch the assistant. Both assistants are not enabled at the same time and mic permission is only given to the enabled assistant. This will occur everytime in any ambient environment including complete quiet.
When I use the Hotphrase on either assistant it is recognized, the assistant opens normally, and they make their tone indicating they're ready for a command. I say a command but neither assistant understands all of the command. Sometimes they miss the first word or two but get the remainder. Sometimes they recognize I spoke but completely misunderstand what I said, example: I say "what time is it", assistant: searchs for "pineapple". Then other times they timeout without hearing anything I said.
This is only when using the hotphrase, anytime I physically press the mic icon or hold the home key they both understand me flawlessly. Additionally i noticed with Google that when you lauch it with the hotphrase or by holding the home key it opens a half screen popup or window at the bottom to take your command. The condition only occurs in that half screen when using the hotphrase, if the Google app is open and on screen (full screen) saying okay Google and exeucting a command works near flawless.
This had been happening for over a year probably. When it started i messed with it for a while then gave up. Now I'm giving it another go. If i remember correctly when I was trying to figure it out a year or so ago I even went as far as reseting the phone to default and setting it up as a new phone manually from scratch, no backup. I've done searches but everything that comes up is for the hotphrase not being recognized which is irrelevant in my case. Regardless I've tried many things from these posts with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?
