Custom Scripts for Android

Hi All,

I am unsure if I am posting in the right area.
-- If I am posting in wrong area, kindly let me know and I will re-post in the right area.

I am not wanting to build an app, but rather custom scripts on my Android Phone, like with the Bash Scripting.

I attempted to google, but I think I such at it since I couldn't find anything on this topic.

What I would like to do(one of many) is the following:

A script that would see whose calling, if it's my fiance for example, it would autoanswer. If restricted or private number, it would auto-reject the call.

I've attempted to look in the Google Play store to find what I am looking for, but I can't find anything remotely close.

Sounds like you'd be better off with a custom ROM, as a lot of them already have many of those capabilities

If I can ask(sorry fairly new at this), Could you elaborate on what is a ROM? The only ROM I am aware of is the ones to play the old Nintendo games on the computer.

OMG, you too?! Lmfao, awesome and I know what ya mean. ROM stands for Read Only Memory but in the case of Android phones, ROM represents the device OS.. Basically newer and non Stock Operating systems have oodles of options that you'll NEVER get on a stock system.. From/for there you can make su.d scripts that act like init.d scripts but are much more compatible and doesn't require kernel mods

I think he meant alternative firmware that you can download and burn into your phone instead of official Android/IOS firmware. But there are underwater rocks

1. Unofficial firmware can have spy software that will upload all your private credentials to elsewhere.
2. Unofficial firmware can destroy your bootloader or something similar. After that your phone will become a brick. And you can't come back to factory settings and lose your warranty.
Of course it's an extreme case, but the probability exists.
