Phones from AT&T and Sprint Because AT&T and Sprint provided Software Update via FOTA only, We can not get kdz firmware through IMEI for those LG devices on AT& T or Sprint Network.

Only way to get kdz is if the phone is a high end ones it sucks

Not entirely accurate.
.KDZ has been out on alot of LG devices for years.
The budget friendly LG Stylo series has .kdz files for public download. Visit LG for a list of devices that have .kdz files.

Well the stylo2 dose not have any kdz they won't post it for download

Is it possible to nuke the laf partion from the stylo2 that are on zv4 and up and then flash the laf partion from an stylo2 that is able to get root and bootloader unlocked if so let me know I have one that's zv3

I was messing about with this python script https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-lg-download-mode-laf-t3285946 I found on XDA. Boot to download mode and it allows you to push commands, but I wasn't able to get very far. The partitions.py supposedly allows you to wipe and recover whatever image you want, but I couldn't get it to work. Maybe someone here may have better luck.

I wiped the laf partition yesterday. Now when I got to download mode I get this:

fastboot_init()
USB init ept @0x08f221000
udc_start()
-- reset --
-- portchange --

I couldn't get my windows PC at home to recognize the driver, but my ubuntu machine does. Ran fastboot oem unlock and phone currently says fastboot: processing commands. Terminal still says waiting for device.

If I wasn't a complete newb, I would know if this was good or not. Image is attached.

Edit: I ran sudo fastboot devices and it sees the device. Ran sudo fastboot oem unlock and it says FAILED (remote: unknown command.) Tried sudo fastboot flashing unlock and I Terminal says < waiting for device > but phone shows fastboot: oem unlock. Seems to stall there.

Re-Edit: I reset terminal and tried sudo fastboot flashing unlock and it seems that is not an actual command as it is unrecognized. Not sure why it would return unknown command for oem unlock. o_O

Ok i bad soft bricked my stylo2 with zv3 that was postex. i found the new upercut whitch u have to have an lg flash tool instaled then run the uper cut and make sure ur in down load mode dont know if you could down grade or not .i have one on zv4 im going to try it out but using the 2014 flash tool it gives u option to downgrade i keep u people updated

Figure out anything, Roadkill?

I ended up getting a Google Pixel 2 after many frustrating problems with the Stylo 2. But, I kept the phone and factory reset it and thought I would check back in. If I wasn't a total newb about Android development, I could be of more help.

I got root on my stylo 2 went from zv4 to zv3 and and working twrp if any body wants the zv3 kdz go to xda in fist post of dirty pistol and go to the last post u see the link

Don't try zv3 on any thing greater then zv4 it sill brick ur phone
