Accessories Galaxy Note 8 glass screen protector options

What case are you using?
I'm using the Spigen Tough Armor and really like it. There may be slimmer cases but it's solid without being too bulky. Cheap too for what you get.
Having watched numerous case reviews since getting it I still think I made the right choice and the only one that looks like it might come close, for me anyway, is Samsung's own one with the kickstand in one of the ridges.

I got my Note 8 for Christmas and am on my 3rd screen procter from Zagg. You just look at them and they crack. Over it!

Sorry I didn't realize I wrote and you replied and I had wrote again which I was trying to delete and now I don't even see it. The Zagg glass didn't get good reviews at all on Amazon or at Zagg so I am kind of leary. My husband is getting a Spigen Neo Hybrid black case and I ordered this casemate one but now I like this Spigen one with a kickstand but Amazon is out of the color I want and Spigen has it which is weird cause it's sold by Spigen on Amazon but it's 1/2 price from Amazon. Anyway phones and cases coming tomorrow so I need to decide on protector. I just like the Zagg stand at our mall and they put them on and I can go in there anytime and get one reput back on for 8 or 10 bucks which I've done twice on my 7 edge. I just want whatever protector I end up with to work with 2 or 3 different cases If I get more than one.

Thanks,
I am using a Zagg on my Note 8 and it is NOT Good. I am on the 3rd one in less than 3 months.

Used the Zagg for a week. No drops, no banging, and it cracked out of the blue. Same with my wife's on her S8. Yes, it protects the screen but.....
Yep I am on my 3rd one in 3 months. Just look at it and it cracks. They replace it but you have to pay $9.99 for shipping.

Maybe you should try a different type of screen protector? I have been using this one since November without a single complaint.

Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector Glass (Full Screen Coverage)(Easy Installation Tray), amFilm Dot Matrix 3D Curved Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tempered Glass Screen Protector 2017

You can find it on Amazon

I just got this one and it works great with my Note 8. Excuse the dust in the pics.

That looks liek 3 in a row for the quality of the Galaxy Note 8 Screen Protector Glass (Full Screen Coverage)(Easy Installation Tray), amFilm Dot Matrix 3D Curved Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tempered Glass Screen Protector 2017

Just a shame about the dots even though they are almost never visible. I just don't like it the odd times I do notice them

Huh. I noticed them for the first week or so and then the glass settled in and I can't even see the dots now when I try to! I like that the protector doesn't "float" above the screen so there are no areas of my screen that are less sensitive. I also like that the adhesive is on all four sides so dust won't creep under it as time goes by.

I run an all black bacground with a black/dark theme and a root black/dark notification panel hack. Every now and then I see them (dots on best protector discussed for newcomers) and think WTF, then remember. Not a biggie.

On the up side for the themeing I get home from work after moderate usage and an hour and a half on the bus on bluetooth music with sometimes 78% battery left and more often than not more than 66 though.

I have that very case and after bouncing many times on many occasion fully protecting my phone the actual case is in perfect condition too. I thought the Note 8 has GG5? I haven't felt the need for a screen protector since GG2 on my M7!

Yup. GG5 on the Note8. But it does still scratch. I started noticing small scratches on mine along the curved edges almost immediately after I got it. So I got a screen protector to take that abuse instead.
Can you provide a link to what you are using? It's time for a change. This Otterbox Defender case has started to "bubble" up on the back and it won't sit flat on the wireless charger without pressure. It's time for something new that can wireless charge, accept my screen protector, and protect my phone!:)

I can...https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Coverage-Installation-amFilm-Tempered/dp/B074G1W2RC

This is the link for my screen protector. I actually use a simple case from Carved.com. Very pretty wood back that plays nice with my wireless charger and provides reasonable protection for me. I am not accident prone with my phone so it works well and looks classy. It also has a really good grip.
check them out.

Thanks again. I'm 100% convinced that the screen protector failures are due to the tight fitting cases like the Otterbox Defender. I have yet to see a combo there (defender case with protector) work (anyone speak up if it's working for you). Just need to try something new since cases have been out for a while now.

One thing I will add. If you buy one of the fantastic glass protectors with the guide enclosure that all seem to have the rediculous dot matrix on them then save the guide. There now seem to be similar totally clear ones around the same price or a little cheaper but with no guide.
I found that great for installation as it ensures top and bottom are not case hassled by the non otterbox cases.
If it ever does break you can get a crystal clear glass protector for a little less due to already having the installation guide. You can keep it in the pristine Note 8 box we all keep on a back shelf somewhere.

Been reading through all the comments. Went through 2 Zagg glass protectors. Unhappy with every case I have had so far. Now I have a UAG case, but really need a screen protector that will stay on. Am starting to see scuffs on my screen. I thought maybe it was dirt or something, but it's not. :(. I don't really like bulky cases, and do like changing my case out from time to time. Cannot remember what cases I have at home at the moment. Any suggestions?

I commented that 3 people in a row had been really impressed with one screen protector in particular.
3 months now and it has not come loose and has not lost anything in sensitivity.
I saw the dots yesterday breifly as it was very sunny and I had the screen at just the wrong angle.

I think one problem many people have is by not being careful and installing in dusty environments. The guide on this protector helps with application but screen pre-cleaning and environment are key.

It would also help to install after vacuuming to remove excess dust but also running a hot shower hot will increase humidity and encourage airbourne dust to settle so could be worth doing several minutes before installation.
If you are due housework anyway then doing the chores and having a shower to freshen up after the effort should leave you with a much les dusty environment for installation.

Thanks...I actually stumbled upon that one before I logged into the forums today. I have 2 german shepherds, so may have to be safe and install this at work where there is less risk of dog hairs! LOL

Still using this one...https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074G1W2RC
And still no problems. I've had it on since last year.
Thank you for the link. I did read that they have issues with the Otterbox Defender Case. I have said it before, I just need a new case. I haven't found one that I like yet so I'm just extra careful with the phone. I am using the case rather than just the screen protector for now. Without the case, the phone is just too thin and slippery for my mits. Below were some comments I saw on Amazon.

I personally don't use otter box so I can't say it will work but I can tell you that the note 8 is a hard phone to find a screen protector and case that will go well together.

I have no idea. I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid case and it works fine with it.

It's a great fit for the Otter Box Commuter.
Dimples Chapman answered on March 12, 2018
It did not work with mine. The otter box pushed up on the corners causing a loss in sensitivity
