Probably not particularly well known over the pond (or maybe even in England), but Scott Hutchison, lead singer and guitarist of an extremely popular Scottish band, Frightened Rabbit was found dead late on Thursday night.

They are a very popular band over here (and one of my faves) and he was pretty well liked/respected by anyone who knew him. He'd been struggling with depression for a while and often spoke about it, but not enough unfortunately.

That is some beautiful music @El Presidente thank you for sharing :)

Shame that is a pity as I can see he was a very talented musician :(

I have attempted suicide before I feel a lot for people like that who have struggled badly.

I have another great musician who recently passed away also very sadly to suicide... he was a great Pioneer in music and had his own unique flavor :(

It is terrible he committed suicide. :(

Only 28 years old his whole life still ahead of him :(

Please think very deeply before you even think about suicide and seek help immediately as the pain that you will leave behind is terrible for all of those who love you very deeply.

I read about that in my Google Feed on my Taimen, had never heard of them prior to the story.

I think it is yet another story of how depression is really affecting more and more people, and in particular those in the entertainment industry - but then, those are the ones whose deaths make the news.

Also read another story from my feed that cited scientific evidence that major depression is on the rise. It's something that needs to be discussed more and hidden less - but when you're the sufferer, it's really hard to open up to people about your symptoms, feelings and thought processes, and in particular to others who aren't suffering from similar symptoms.

That is some beautiful music, and I plan to listen to more of their offerings when I can - thanks for sharing, El, but I'm still saddened at the loss of yet another performer to depression.
