Help insufficient storage space errors, I have plenty.

I have an older HTC m8 and no real desire to get rid of it yet. My device is rooted (superSU) and I use that to creat backups of apps and data.

The reason for this is I find my phone boggs down about every 4-6 months now. Clearing app cache has no effect.II'm planning on trying some different roms that don't have all the extra garbage in hopes of better stability. Any suggestions, please do.

Main problem is some apps will report insufficient storage space. Utter nonsense, internal storage has 15gb free while my external card has 74gb free. It's a 128 sdcard BTW. I mostly have this with titanium backup (can't make backups!) And Asus file explorer. It works well for network transfers for me.

I can install apps fine, transferring files over USB seems fine. I've also been able to network transfer files to internal storage and then move to the external card when it's telling me insufficient storage.

These issues seem isolated to the external card. I am quite aware of the 'mount namespace separation' option in SU for titanium backup and it is indeed turned off.

Any thoughts? I've spent a lot of time on Google only to get things like 'delete some stuff' which is clearly not the problem here.

Thanks.

I hadn't spotted that Titanium was the app that was giving the OP message (was reading at midnight). But it's just an app that can write to SD, and I've never encountered any problem with it misreading drive capacity (and I've used it with internal, external and usb otg storage).

I know nothing about the Asus file manager.

My first thought was that there was something dodgy about the card, but it seems unlikely with so much data written to it already: problems with fake cards tend to show up earlier.

Q: have you had any other problems with the SD card? In particular any files being corrupted? And is there anything unusual about the card that you've not mentioned, such as it being partitioned?

Before you do that, why don't you try another sd card on your phone to see if it clears the problem..

At first I was thinking like Hadron I the regards that could be the sd, but then I changed my mind..

Also about the data transferring over the network(since is your main issue)..there's an app that do that, why don't you try it..
