In addition, the user agreement (which I know doesn't cover tethering) is crystal clear about unlimited data. There is no mention of a 5 gb limit. For those of you that keep mentioning that I'd ask that you visit the verizon site and read the (surprsingly short) agreement, you know, the one you signed off one when you signed your contract with verizon. No limit. Why do people insist on being limited? As far as what verizon might want to do in the future, who knows? I'd guess that there rolling out of a new, faster, broader bandwith system later this year answers that question.

I know the exact reason why some people think there is a 5 GB data limit and others do not. In January when i started my contract with vz i set it up online. It LITERALLY said that there was a 5 GB/month limit on the droids data plan when i set it up. Now it appears that vz has changed that, but a lot of us took note of it when we signed up because we were kind of disappointed. I know I was afraid of going over my 5 GB limit and getting charged ridiculous fees.

Ironically, the reason some of us thought the data was limited is because we DID pay so much attention to the contract we signed :)

O
Thanks! Do you recommend rooting, and if so, what ROM should I use?

Only root if u need wifu tether and or if you feel u need to overclock. Or if a 2.2 rom comes out. If u root try bugless beast Rom. Its blazing fast. Cyanogen mod looks awsome but once your over your phone running hot and sluggish you will be over cyanogenmod

CyanogenMod runs faster for me than anything else I've tried. My phone doesn't like bekit's kernel so Bugless Beast is out of the question, but for the time that I was trying it, it didn't seem particularly fast.

Will we be getting 2.2 eventually or am I going to have to root?

We will get 2.2 eventually, but rooted users will get it much, much sooner (just like with 2.1). You might just want to root. Personally, if it were up to me I'd advise everyone to root though. :)

Hey sorry to sound like a noob, but I Googled "Fab's Bugless Beast," but I have never rooted before, so I don't know how to do it...I don't want to brick my droid, so I don't feel I can trust just anything that I find on the internet.

Check on this same forum "all things root" that's how I did it. You will need to install rom manager for the easiest way to download and flash roms. Thos is where you will find bugless beast. You however have to root first.
