Smart Switching

I own an unlocked Galaxy S7. It is Verizon branded. My carrier is Cricket. I want to be able to automatically switch from WiFi to the 4G cellular network when I am out of range of the Wifi router. I believe that feature is called "smart switching". But turning that option on is unavailable on my phone. Is there a way around his problem or am I going to have to change my carrier to Verizon?

If you leave your mobile data turned on, when you connect to wifi, then when the wifi falls out of range, it should automatically switch to wifi.
I believe you meant to say "it should automatically switch to" the 4G network. I have mobile data turned on. Perhaps I am overlooking some other setting. Before buying the S7, what you suggest is exactly how it worked when my phone was a Cricket branded LG and my carrier was Cricket. Now, I have a Verizon branded S7 and my carrier is still Cricket. That is when this problem was first noticed.

Perhaps on the Developer options you can enable the "Aggressive WiFi to Cellular Handover" option:

To enable the developer options,
  1. Launch the settings app from your Home screen or the app drawer.
  2. Tap on About Device. It's all the way down at the bottom of the menu.
  3. Tap on Software info.
  4. Tap on Build number 7 times.
Edit: even maybe enable the "Cellular Data always active" option?
