So, I just paid $6 for this app called Tasker because I want to have a different notifications for SMS and Emails (I am in shock that one cannot do this on the MikG ROM).

I want to create a new profile in Tasker to play a sound when an SMS arrives. I cannot locate the dir that has the factory notification sounds. Is it hidden or something?

I can't believe I am having so much trouble with this. I've searched and searched and cannot find any .wav or .mp3 that represent my notification sounds.

Keep in mind, I don't need new sounds - I just want to use the ones already on the phone.

Thanks for any help.

In ES file explorer, you should be able to click on the "favorites" star icon and access the phone's "root" file (the picture of the phone with "/" under it..see attached..then navigate to /system/media/audio..

You nailed it!! :)

This is exactly where these are located. If you ever have issues like this in the future, you could just create a media / notifications folder structure on your SD card. Unzip the rom file you are running on your PC, and navigate to the system / media / audio, then copy the files out. Place in the folder on your sd card, then you'll have easy access to them. It's kinda redundant, but some find it easier to find. :)

If you do not have access to / under the favorites star then do the following:
Under the favorites star select add, / and name it root. After which you should be able to go to /system/media/audio. Copy the notification folder and paste it into /storage/emulated/0/. After which you should able to change any notification sounds. (At least this is what I had to do.)
