Forums for Android™

I've seen that function behave a bit oddly sometimes, particularly on a fresh install. The trick (for me) at least is to visit the app info screen for the Forums app (Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Forums on my Pixel 2), the go to Advanced > Open by default > Open supported links > Don't open in this app. This way the Forums app won't try to intercept the androidforums.com link that you're trying to pass to the browser.

Thanks. That was worth a try, and I'll work on it some more and reinstall it again.

I changed to don't open in this app and when that didn't work I cleared defaults as well.

It's no biggie for me really. All forums apps, though I haven't used many, have little used dusty corridors it seems.
^ (I've no idea where I got that! from) :p

Hey guys, I have some possible complaints about the forums app but would like to present this in a constructive query instead.
Is there any way/possibility to reintegrate Tapatalk to Android Forums.. Even with some possible kind of paid scenario?

Here's why I ask:
Ever since you guys removed Tapatalk functionality, app usage to deal with AF has been a serious pain and this is my list of WTF's..
- Thread quotes/Replies constantly F/C
- There's never any Forum.apk updates or improvements
- Post's made with the Forums.app has a buncha weird stuff added when we use amy symbols, leaving use with posts near impossible to understand when reading from a webpage..
- That beautiful 'ignore' list doesn't apply or extend to the app's function and ppl still have to deal with ppl they've set in the ignore list. If you select IGNORE/BLOCK in a website or even just the Tapatalk app, you never see or hear from the ignored list.
- I know that one of the supposed reasons the Forums app was made was due to lack of TT updates.. And that's changed. A LOT.

I feel y'all have been wonderful to me here in AF but are generally leaving users hanging with these (app) issues here. I thank you & hope this post has some merit that others can expand on or add things I've forgotten to list/detail..

Steve’s no longer employed by us so I'm pretty sure bug fixes etc aren't going to happen any time soon unfortunately.

@NightAngel79 might be able to shed some more light on what's happening though.

Thank you, I can hope so as it seems Steve left AF in a worse situation of app integration than when we had Tapatalk capability. BTW, Tapatalk still attempts connection to AF even tho unsuccessful..
