Hi,
I want to have a new, fresh android device (smartphone/tablet) with Android OS only.
Is it possible to remove built-in Android OS components, so I'll have minimal number of icons on all screens together?
This is important for a disabled person.
Thanks in advance,
Lior.

In most android devices you can go to settings; apps; and then select the app you want to remove and 'force stop' and then 'disable' and the icon should disappear. If in the future you want it back you can do the same method up 'enable' it and it will come back with and icon. Hope this helps.

Where do you want to remove them from?

Unless you are using some odd interface that pretends to be an iPhone, there are two places these icons could be: on one (or more) of you home screens, and in the "app drawer". Icons can simply be removed from the home screen, you don't have to be able to uninstall or disable the app to do this: usually just press and hold the icon and you can drag it off or select "remove" from the options (depending on what launcher, i.e. interface app, you are using). It will still be installed, and still in the app drawer. If you want it gone from the app drawer as well then the simplest way is probably to use a replacement launcher such as Nova, which will let you hide apps from there. I proposed this an a reply to your other (duplicate) thread.

If you do have one of those odd iPhone-copying interfaces (such as MIUI) then just using a replacement launcher instead is the simplest solution. You've not said what phone this is, so we don't know what your default interface is.

You usually cannot uninstall system apps, and the phone will stop you disabling some (usually ones that are essential, but sometimes others - it depends on the manufacturer). But for your purpose just hiding them from the user interface is all you need, so there is no need to uninstall them.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your detailed answer.
I have LG G2, with Android Lollipop 5.0.2.
Thanks again, much appreciated,
Lior.

OK, as I remember a G2 should have a conventional launcher (home pages + app drawer, and you can remove icons from the home pages without uninstalling the app). But that's from memory, I don't own one so can't check anything directly.
That's exactly what I am working on right now :)
Thanks again and happy weekend,
Lior.
