Ive had the new 46 mm LTE tmobile galaxy watch since ive had the note 9, so a few days now. I had the frontier s3 and the battery life alone is worth the upgrade.

I just received my 42mm Galaxy Watch and it's charging right now! I'll miss my Huawei Watch - a LOT - but I hope to get over that pretty quickly

That's what I'm using right now. Easy install, and haven't had a problem with response on the screen. Does show fingerprints more than I like.

BTW folks, The Note9 will fit into the GearVR for the Note8 - HOWEVER:
The USB-C port on the Note9 is slightly offset from its location on the Note8: just enough for it to not connect. Samsung is offering a free adapter to Note9 owners - but you have to CALL and ask for it. The number is (800) SAMSUNG or (800) 726-7864.

Has anyone with a Note 9 tried out the DeX functionality using a USB-C to HDMI adapter cable? If so, how was the performance and did the Note 9 come with a USB-C to HDMI adapter cable? I read that the DeX pad is still the best way to go because of the built-in fan and the phone switching to DeX mode instantly compared to a delay when using a cable. Thanks.

well i just tried this with an HDMI cable and an adapter on the note 9 and the start up on my plasma television was near instant. i've not tried the dex pad but from plugging the cable into the phone to the display showing on the screen was just a couple seconds.
the screen is the "trackpad" and navigating around was easy.
yeah i can see the benefits of having the fan keep the phone cool, and that may be a wise decision going forward if one uses the note 9 as thwei main computer.

I didn't know the newest watch from Samsung didn't include MST. That is definitely a deal breaker for me and I have been waiting a long time for this watch to come out. I guess I will be waiting even longer for the next watch and maybe then I will get everything I want in a Samsung watch.

I wonder if they can actually fit MST into something as small as a watch? Because it needs an induction coil with enough power to drive it. Basically to generate a sufficiently strong magnetic field for the payment terminal's head to read it, that usually reads the mag-stripe on credit cards. A phone is much larger than a watch of course.

Yeah the old frontier had mst. Ill say I won’t miss it in the new galaxy watch as when i want to use it, i can. Plus the phone is usually with me. Losing mst is a small con in the overall PROs of the new galaxy watch. Really impressed at the quality over the frontier.

The dual fast charger for the Note9 and Galaxy Watch is good, functional and only requires one outlet. It's used a lot - regardless of the pitch about the 'all day' battery, I'm killing this phone just as fast as I did the Note8. Yes, I'm still setting things up, but a 4000mAh battery should not die out this quickly.

Guess what? I'm boxing up the Galaxy Watch and sending it back for a refund.

That's what Samsung told us all at the Unpacked Event on August 9th, remember? What we weren't told was that the Galaxy Watch will not display anything, even with ambient mode and "Always on" Display selected, unless we tap a button or otherwise do something to the watch to wake it up.
When I tilt my wrist in the look at the time, I am staring at a blank, black screen... regardless of the watchface. I called Samsung, and they said that it's a power-saving "feature" because the watch only has a 217mAh battery.
That's not a feature, Samsung. That's a pain in the butt.
When I look at my watch, I want to see what time it is. If I have to use my other hand to do something TO the watch to make it do that, I may as well pull my phone out and look at the time! So the Galaxy Watch's "Always On Display" is a 100% LIE because there is NO WAY to leave the display always on.
And Samsung can buy this piece of garbage back.

As someone who’s never used a wireless charger before are they beneficial over charging the old fashion way LOL. I never understood the wireless charging because you have to plug that in as well. Is it just so you save wear and tear on the charging port on the phone? Thanks

I’m not sure what watch face you are using but im using the same watch faces i used not the frontier s3. It has an AOD feature and the watch wakes up when i tilt my wrist just like the frontier s3. Ive the 46mm version and lte.
There is a ‘goodnight’ feature that keeps the display off and notifications from bothering you when you have it set. Did you use that by chance?
Ive been able to get 2 full days plus of use with the watch on the brightest (10) setting and all radios on. At the end of my 2nd day i had 40% battery left.

Can anyone recommend a slim case with cutouts for the buttons? I'm not a fan of the "fake buttons" that cover the actual buttons.

The benefit of wireless charging is that the charger IS plugged in, but only one time... then all I have to do is set the phone down on it. When I'm ready to go somewhere, I just pick it up and go. No holding the phone with one hand while plugging it in or unplugging it, no time to store the cable when I'm done, or fight hand over hand with it to get to the connector. At night, I'm on my way to the bed - I open my Alarm Clock app, set it to dim... by then I'm sitting down on the bed, and I just set it on the charger. In the dark. No cables. When I get up, I just pick it up and go. No cables. The point is that wireless charging, like so many other technologies, isn't really something anyone NEEDS: but once you've used it a couple of times, you don't want to be without it.

So the Pixel Watch is rumorware and not happening. So I jumped on a new, open box Huawei Watch 2 Classic. I got the watch, screen protectors and a 3D printed charger stand for LESS than the Galaxy Watch cost. Plus, it's Wear 2.0 (big upgrade rolling out this month) and not Tizen!

This is NOT my month for buying a smartwatch!
My Huatch 2 Classic has been on Wear OS 1.5 since I got it, and every attempt to update it has failed with "System is up to date". My Gen 1 Huatch had Wear 2.0 on it! Huawei Support couldn't figure it out, so I'm returning it. I'll reorder the watch and - hopefully - the replacement will update!
BTW there is a Android P developer preview available for the Huawei Watch 2 Classic... which will probably be Wear 2.5 or 3. There are some issues with it, such as the inability to auto-connect to WiFi. I'll patiently wait, as the new Wear official version is due out in the next few weeks.

Got the Amazon return credit, turned around and bought another one. Maybe this one will work!
I also bought Armorsuit Military Shield screen protectors. I used that brand on my Huawei Watch and they work great! In fact, I returned my glass screen protectors too - because they're oil and fingerprint magnets!

Just got a note 9 and I'm in love with battery cases. These usually have a bit of a 'chin'. Can I expect this to make retrieving the pen a pain?

I would think it would depend on how big the finger is that you use to retrieve your pen. I use the tip of my thumbnail but I'm a girl and I have long nails so it's easy for me.
