No Network following successful Unlock

Hi All,

I am looking for some help. I am UK based. My phone is not rooted.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge from E-Bay (Rookie Mistake I know) which was sold as unlocked.
I used it fine for about 30 days then it stopped working. I then found out the seller had reported it stolen and it got blocked. I contacted my service provider (O2) and after a bit of back and forth managed to get it unlocked again.
I have been using it fine for over a year on O2 but have moved home and service is poor I therefore decided to move providers to EE.

I inserted an EE SIM to then discover the phone was locked (O2 had locked it when they sorted my issue previously).
As I was still an O2 customer at this stage I filled out the unlock forms and everything processed fine. My Number ported over and then I received my unlock code.

I followed the following instructions:

Step 1.
insert a SIM card from a different network provider in your phone and you’ll be asked to “Enter Unlock Code” or “Sim Network Unlock Pin”. Enter your unlock code, and the message “Network Unlock Successful” will be displayed. - I completed this successfully but it still failed to work so I then found the following instructions from google:

Step 2.
If your phone does not ask for the unlock code and it only says “Network Locked” then, as if making a call, dial: #7465625*638*#. And go back to step 1. - I completed this and successfully entered my code. I then received the message "Network Unlock Successful" and rebooted my phone.

Now all I get is no service and when I try to manually select EE it says unable to connect and network not available at this time. I have tried EE, Vodafone and 3 but they all do the same. I have also tried putting an O2 SIM in the phone and this works fine which indicates it is still locked.

I am at a loss and cannot use my phone for calls or messages and really need some help.
I don't want to root my phone in anyway but need some help and advice please.

Thank You In Advance.
