My 10.1 tablet is about 2 1/2 years old. Started freezing up about 6 months ago. Could restart using the power button and down volume button. About a week ago I went 2 days without using it and when I tried to turn it on nothing happened.

I've charged, then tried to restart with no success. It shows the Samsung 10.1 screen, then the "swirly" screen (not sure what else to call it), then gets stuck on the "SAMSUNG" screen as it alternates between white and blue letters.

I've tried every option I've found on various websites: power + volume down, power + volume up, power + touching the screen, etc. Sometimes I get the open box with the little Android guy. I've been able to pull up the options menu and I've tried every option to reboot, restart system, etc. and nothing happens except to bring me back to the original 3 screens as noted above.

Any suggestions before I take out my frustrations with a sledgehammer?

And, also, I connected the tablet with my computer and ran the troubleshooting program. It says I have a driver device error (code 10). Does this mean anything to anyone? I have enough technology expertise to get myself into hot water - I just can't get myself out of it!

I got a secondhand Galaxy Tab 10.1. It suddenly crashed on me and now it only shows a blank screen. I held down the power button to restart it and tried the power/volume button combination but nothing works. It's dead. Help?!

I have the same problem. Tablet in the start up loop. Last night while holding down the power button and volume button the android doll flashed on the screen momentarily but before I could get to it, it disappeared and I have not been able to get it to show again.

My tablet will not power on without the charger being plugged in. Then it won't boot up, it goes to start screen and hangs.
I've tried the various suggestions above but all I get to is the "downloading do not turn off target" page by using the power and volume buttons. I can't get to the reset or recovery page. Could this be an issue with my battery as I have noticed that it isn't lasting as long as it used to? Would changing the battery fix this?
