This problem is on my Metro PCS Alcatel Flerce 4 phone model 5056N. OS Android V6.0. The volume controls (Media, Alarm, Ring and notification) have changed position. The order used to be, ring on top then media, alarm and notification.

Now media volume is on top and ring is the 3rd one down. See the screen capture picture bellow. The volume controls (up and down) on the side of the phone are now controlling the media volume instead of the ring volume. How do I change the order of the volume controls so that ring is back on top?

Dannydet I have the OS update set to ask if I want to install the update or not. 1 time for the heck with it, and hit yes. The volume positions didn't change right away. It changed about 3 to 4 weeks after the update. I have had this problem in other models of cell phones. But I can't remember how to change it back and whether or not it is unique to 1 type of phone and not to an other.

There was an OS update that installed the changes. Nothing you can do to revert it. You can install a 3rd party app from the play store that handles volumes that may have them listed as they used to be

In fact I think I remember now how to do it without a 3rd party app. It requires the phone or tablet to be rooted. I think there is a built in app or a file that controls which volume slider is on top and the top volume slider is controlled by the volume plus and volume minus controls on the side of the phone.
