Hi everyone,

I just bought a Google Pixel 2 phone (64 GB) and I have been trying to get it set up. Unfortunately, the Google Calendar does not sync with my phone. I have tried everything, I went though all the steps with a Google support agent including resetting it to factory settings, deleting the account and adding it again, restarting the phone, pretty much everything possible to troubleshoot this issue and it still does not work.

Strangely, when I look at the synced account options, the Calendar shows the sync icon next to it but it does not move, it's just there. It says synced but then when I open the calendar app, nothing is there and when I try to add a new event it says "no calendars synced". It's like the calendar sync is just frozen in time, the little sync icon does not move.

This is really really frustrating. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, first by myself and then with the Google support agent. The support agent told me to post here and submit feedback about it, so that is what I am doing. This is a brand new phone and I've never had this problem with any other Andoird devices before. Please help.

Go to your settings, applications, calendar and make sure your permissions are turned on. That's always the first place I check. If all that is good, wait for a poster by the name of Codesplice to read the post. He may have a fix.
I truly appreciate the vote of confidence... but sync issues like these can be troublesome to track down. I'll certainly throw out some ideas though!

Since it sounds like the system thinks it's syncing the calendar data but the Calendar app hasn't gotten that memo, try clearing the local data for the Calendar app (Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Calendar > Storage > Clear storage) and then launching the Calendar app again.

When you open the Calendar app and tap the three-line menu button at the top right, what do you see? Mine shows a handful of different view options and then my @gmail account name and the calendars synced from that account. Do you see anything there?

Try forcing a sync via Settings > Accounts > you@gmail.com > Account sync > Menu > Sync now. Does that update the "Last synced" timestamp for the Calendar entry?

Let us know how that testing goes and maybe we can figure out something else to try...
